According to PSU twitter the freshman stud will not compete at nationals. The team race will be epic starting tomorrow. Go Bucks!!

Bad deal for that young man. It's probably too late to re-seed although the committee did that at 157 when Murphy bowed out.

I don't celebrate any wrestlers injury. I feel badly for the young man but the team race just got a whole lot more interesting!

I watched the moment when Suriano injured his ankle several times...and I just couldn't see what happened. It literally appeared as if he tweaked it slightly and now he's out of NCAA's. Wow.

The Big Ten tourney gave us an indication of how important he was to PSU. Bucks chances of winning the NCAA tournament improve with him out...but same is true for Oklahoma State.

I feel bad for him as a wrestler. But as all of us learned with the Hunter Stieber situation, nothing is promised.

Could be absolutely savage gamesmanship by Cael, costing Piccininni a seed line. Or it could have been just Cael trying to see if he could have wrestled.

Didn't Dustin Schlatter do the same thing? Got through Big Tens & forfeited his first match at Nationals, costing someone else a chance to wrestle?

Mine too. Talked with Bob Pruesse this afternoon. Told him Nick was a good buy. He warned me ankles take a long time to heal. Not 30 minutes later I see he is out.

Well Dustin made an attempt to wrestle. It did not go well. Thomas Scotton shot in on him, and then for the next 5 minutes Dustin was writhing in pain on the mat with trainers huddled over him. He defaulted out.

It seems Hall coming out of RS has renewed importance...

Not to beat a dead horse (me and red-shirting), but if they don't win it, was it worth it to pull his red-shirt? He looks like a perfect example of a kid that has the skills, but just needed a year to put on some good weight and grow into a true 174. With all of his technique and mat savvy, imagine what he'd be with horsepower?
