Bingo, either an option, probably the latter.

wont be Lehigh, he would have said so already, its ohio st or penn st which ohio st usually loses these head to heads -- but not this time."

Correct to assume that you were in the know, Dano, er, Mr. Preusse?

Hank, it added up to Dano, even in his cocktail lounge haze of Vegas, based on several factors.

Contacts who acually know the McKenna's said he was leaving Stanford and quoted Jeff Buxton as saying if McK was going to Lehigh he would have announced already. ....Buckeyes usually lose head to head with Penn st but in this case, McK could pick his wt and i don't think he fears 141 or 149 comp at Ohio St. And its logical Micah to move up, Retherford NOT moving up. Plus chance to wr with Logan.

Dano tells me for INSPIRATION he watched terrific movie "Zero Dark Thirty", story of female CIA analyst who added all the factors up that said Bin Laden hiding in this compound in Pakastan-- no one at CIA or White House bought it for a long time but she was right. BINGO.

I'll hold off my celebration until some sort of formal announcement, but it appears Ohio State has added a world junior medalist to an already stacked lineup.

Awesome.

But where does McKenna fit into the lineup and who gets squeezed out by his arrival?

My hunch is he'll continue to wrestle at 141 where he's not particularly big for the weight. Keshawn Hayes will either challenge McKenna for the spot or bulk up to 149.

Micah Jordan under this scenario would move to 157. Good. It gets him away from Zain (although Nolf is no day at the beach).

It appears — again, under this scenario — that junior college national champion Dayton Racer will be out of the lineup. And if this is the case, is it too late for him to pick another school?

I feel for Stanford here.

Jason Borrelli is trying to build a strong program at Stanford amid admission challenges. Losing the program's top wrestler does not help.

Northwestern has been hammered too. Two standout recruits have verbaled and backed out. Tsirtsis left. Micic left. Around five years ago, NW was still a competitive Big Ten program. Now, they're scuffling.

Certainly meant no disrespect as we have seen it happen. I was just trying to avoid the "homer train"

Very good points. Schools like NW, Stanford, Cornell , ect. are on a different recruiting playing field.

Logan Stieber would have gotten in to Harvard, Yale or Stanford if he had wanted to go to those schools to wrestle.

Problem for NW and Stanford is they have small squads and limited resources. The elite kids want the elite opportunities. Stanford and NW just don't care about wrestling enough to fund them better. So, studs like Beard realize they will have fewer training partners and decide to opt out for better situations to attain goals. NW and Stanford can still get recruits but they'll struggle (esp. NW which is surrounded by talented schools) to convince elite ones to come. Those kids will be looking at PSU, tOSU, Mich, Cornell, Okie State, Mizzou, Virginia Tech, Neb, Minny, Iowa, NC State and Iowa State...perhaps Lehigh. These are your premier schools with the most to offer at the current time. Oklahoma and ASU too. This is the new reality of collegiate wrestling. My fear is that we end up with 30 D1 programs with the rest giving up.

Mckenna is a big 141. A few years ago he failed to make 132/60kg for junior worlds-night before weigh ins- after he was granted a special wrestleoff with a 2 kg allowance. He made the Jr world team that year without ever actually making weight.

I believe he wrestled at Fargo at 138 three or four years ago. I bet he walks around at least 160.

Is he for sure coming? I saw a tweet last night that said he narrowed it down to Lehigh, PSU and tOSU unless that was an old tweet someone retweeted.

I also saw on twitter that their were 9 bucks at the OTC in Colorado

Myles
Nato
Kolin
Kyle
Logan

who are the other 4?
