I'm not even sure he had a plan when he got up there, just winged it. There was no pattern. Reminded me of our Commander in Chief (not trying to be political, just being honest), almost like he was modeling Trump.

If I had a son at the elite level, I'd definately prefer him in the hands of the guy who helped mold great individuals like Kyle and Myles rather than Gilman and Metcalf! Does anyone else think like that?

I had a two paragraph diatribe typed up describing how dispicable he is and have opted to take the high road. Instead I'll choose to use him as an example for all of what not to become. He has perverted competitive spirit to the point of ugliness. Complete baffoon!

That’s embarrassing. It’s embarrassing for Iowa and NCAA wrestling. It’s embarrassing for the United States and USA wrestling. I just don’t understand the mentality, or the need to put it on display.

I'm not even sure what his point of all that was. Was it Just go up there and be a complete ass to well respected coaches like dresser and schwab? Then to say you're not coming back to the event, and to top it off to alienate a lot of team USA fans
Hey Gilman, you can keep your Hawkeyes. I'm embarrassed for you

This is not Dan Gable’s Iowa. I doubt that he was proud of the total lack of class.
Somewhere along the way Iowa went from being dedicated, elite and tough wrestlers who could still display some civility to a bunch of idiots who talk a big game but can’t deliver at the level Gable’s teams could. They should all be made to watch Gable AFTER he lost to Owings.
Tom Ryan is proving it can be done with class, as is, of course, Cael.

Totally classless. I wasn't sure if I was watching an event that was suppose to showcase the sport of wrestling or a Conor McGregor press conference.
The most disturbing aspect of the entire Gilman episode may have been the fedora he was wearing.
Honestly, if I were an Iowa fan I would be embarrassed.

My perspective: it's not a team I root for, or a family member, or a son, or a friend. For those reasons, I find it absolutely hilarious and look forward to the rivalry that comes out of this. ISU vs. Iowa will be a lot of fun.
If this was someone in my circle of fandom or relationship, I would have similar feelings as the rest of you.

WWGS? What Would Gable Say?
Remember when the press asked Gable what his goal was for the NCAA championships and he replied, “10 National Champions.â€
Succinct and with the heft to back it up.
