Mead with a reversal and backs in last ten seconds...Hayes over Kolodzik.

Hard to believe Hayes wanted to go 141. He is nice sized at 149 and wrestling well. I like his upside. Could be NCAA champ in a year.

Did you foresee Hayes beating Kolodzik? I thought he was ranked fairly high...

Campbell had that leg wrapped up and was limping after the match. If I'm Ryan, I put Burcher in tomorrow. We need everyone healthy heading into January and the meat of the competition.

Hayes is a light 149#, he's not cutting any real weight to make 149# so yes, I can believe him wanting to go 141#.

In predicting this match, Thomsen beat Kolodzik at that All Star meet and Hayes defeated Thomsen. Kolodzik and Hayes were 1-1 against each other when they wrestled 141#, so this was definitely a swing match. What surprised me was Hayes was able to ride Kolodzik in the 2nd period. Kolodzik is solid on the mat, didn't see that outcome.

He doesn't look undersized.

A lot of people wanted Kolodzik in Columbus and were disappointed when he signed with Princeton. Looks like things turned out ok for us.
Same thing when Isaiah White committed then was unable to attend Ohio State initially. We had to “settle” for a transfer and again, that has turned out pretty well for us so far.

Tom Ryan and staff can’t get enough credit IMO.

That is all.

(But if we don’t get 10 B1G champs & NCAA champs we, the fans, will want his head on a platter! See you in March. ;-) )
