Intriguing dual for the first six weights. Then the Bucks should roll.
Is Nate going to crush Lizak again? Or will this match be a lot closer. On paper, it would seem closer as Lizak is much better than the last time Nate faced him. Plus this is only Nate's second match at 125.
How legit a threat to Nate is Lizak?

Nate, just choose neutral. Do not choose down. You can beat him on your feet.

125- Nato dominates on his feet wins 9-3
133- Pletcher loses a tight one to Mckee 7-5
141- Mekenna wins 5-3
149- Hayes +4 against Brancale or Dec Bleise
157- Micah wins by dec over shorts
165-Wanzek by dec Te'shan has to find offense on his feet
174- Bo by Major
184-Myles by Major or tech
197- Kolin by tech
285- Captain America by pin fall
I think this will be the best test of the season thus far for the Bucks. It is possible they can win at every weight but I don't think that happens here. The most intriguing match up is 133 because Mckee has a wide open style and Pletcher is very methodical. I think Luke drops a close one that will help him open up more moving foward.

What do you mean by "opening up?" Do you want him shooting doubles from space? Should he try hitting headlocks?
Pletcher is undefeated and second ranked. He doesn't dominate but he wins. His strategy works. He should stick to it.

Come on, Niemann! They don't hand out NCAA titles in December and January. We'll see if it still works when the chips are down. ;-)

Bad comparison. Heil's game included a heavy dose of counter wrestling. The new rules don't allow for rolling around on your back for long stretches.
Everyone's entitled to their opinion on Pletcher but I think some of you are really missing the point. He is physically limited. He is a short wrestler with short arms and short legs. I think his current style is working remarkably well and fits his build. He has turned potential weaknesses into strengths. If he opened up more, he'd give up TD's and lose.
17-0 wrestling a conservative style vs 12-5 or 10-7 with a more wide open style.

Hank, I never said he needs to change his style. When I was talking about opening up more I was refering to an attack rate increase at some point. Although, Pletcher is 17-0 his body of work doesn't reasonate to the second ranked wrestler in the country in my opinion. He hasn't faced Gross or Brock who will present a few challenges for Luke. It wouldn't totally surprise me if Pletcher, Hayes, and Campbell didn't AA this year. I'm a homer I hope they do but I won't get too high or low until they prove themselves at the show.

Obviously, Luke's skill set doesn't include doubles from space or headlocks(high risk) but he is good at go behinds and low singles. I think he needs to get to his set ups and ties more often in a match. Opening up more for Luke might mean a few more attacks per match. I think that Mckee won't let him get away with just one or two attacks tonight.

The weather is bumming me out. Have tickets but am thinking the drive from Dayton would be treacherous. Anyone else staying home that was planning on going?

I had to decide to stay home. My regular trip home took 75 minutes rather than 35...
