Discussion Topic: #2 Bucks vs. #5 NC State
Don Bork added to this discussion on February 14, 2018

Have no doubt that Bo has some physical issues, wear and tear from all the years of competing. Also agree that he probably is ready to be done with the grind and move forward with his life. He does, after all have a family I expect he would like to spend more time with. All this makes it difficult to be as focused mentally as well. Really hope he can finish strong. If I could pick only one of our Buckeyes to win an individual championship this year I think Bo would get my vote.

Did the Bucks wrestle today at 4:30?

If so, what happened? I have been at work all day?
Came on here to see some results.

Good post, Don. Bo gets my vote as well.

He's hurt and has been for three years. This is most evident with his lack of driving power from the top position. As a healthy freshman he beat the living hell out of good opponents with his power half. He now struggles to turn even mediocre opponents.

Foot pain in any sport is a huge limiter.

agree 100% here. After hearing Bo has another round of chemo after the season that kinda puts his struggle into perspective. It's been whispered for 3 years now he's dealing with a "nagging foot injury". But the scope of it still hasn't been fully revealed. Nevertheless, those are man type issues and he's gained a tremendous amount of respect in my mind for dealing with that as a college athlete and still competing. And he's not just competing, he's near the top of the sport and maintaining it. When you take into consideration the fact he has a family as well, it's incomprehensible what he is accomplishing in the face of insurmountable odds. Bo has became a hero in my mind. I wish him nothing but success!

Bob,
Bo kinda casually mentioned in his Steelwood Podcast interview that he has another round of chemo after the season for his tumor. I have heard of instances of benign tumors also being treated with chemo but I couldn't really say either way as I'm not "in the know" here. The ability for him to delay treatment until a more suitable time in his training schedule does kinda speak to the extent here a bit. I would think it's not malignant but again, couldn't say definitively.

Dual online at 4:30 on ESPN3. Here's link: http://www.espn.com/watch/player?id=3280779

Is this likely to be a nice finale for the Bucks or a trap match like Lehigh?

Moore seems to gas and lose his position late. Iowa/PSU/NCST.

I think Moore gets overpowered too easily. He looks small compared to the two guys who've beaten him.

Very nice and tactical performance by McKenna. Looked like they had Jack scouted very well.

Micah loses another match on botttom. Gave up backs after getting first TD.

It's too bad he has to wrestle on the mat. He's pretty good on his feet.

Micah belongs at 149. He has sacrificed a lot by moving up.
