Quote from Hank Kornblut's post:

"Nice job by Campbell as he wins an MD and finishes 9th. Tough draw. He won the match he needed to qualify for NCAA's."

Doesn't Campbell have to win one more match to finish 9th? At least that is what it looks like according to the bracket.

33-7 overall at the toughest conference tourney in the nation by a landslide. Teams like Purdue, Rutgers, Minny, Illinois, Wisconsin and NW would be among the best teams in any other conference. In the BT, they're fighting to be top 5.

Early in the season, I wasn't sold on Joe McKenna. Now, I'm president of his fan club. What an amazing performance. Great leg attacks....brilliant top work...and poise under pressure. You can see the Logan influence. I think the win over Lee (PSU) reminded him who he was. Since then he's ripped Kevin Jack and tore up the BT. To quote Rex, "He's wrestling like a boss." He is 100% capable of winning NCAA's.

Definitely, the best performance I’ve ever seen out of an Ohio State team

A couple thoughts; KMoore looked like he was wrestling not to lose at the end of the regular season or parts of this season for that matter. I liked his interview after the finals in which he spoke of eliminating attachments to winning and focusing on being in the moment and constantly attacking. tOSU does an excellent job with this as it is an aspect of peak performance. Sometimes when you train so hard obsessively toward the goal, your focus shifts to the goal itself and causes mental fatigue. It is a subtle thing. You chew through energy when you are focused on winning rather than wrestling. One is capable of being calm and in the moment when you are focused on the attack itself. Its simple and straight forward rather than a contrivance.
As mentioned before Joey McKenna is the grasshopper to sensei Stieber. He is wrestling with a confidence that has improved significantly. He is wrestling the best guys available that are having an additive effect to his performance. Wrestling with the best.
Segway into Alec Pantaleo, post match interview of gratitude and respect for the coaches that have helped him improve his wrestling to another level. He has Kellan Russell and Churella to square off with every day who are obviously allowing him room for growth and are supportive.
It is not a complicated equation. Talent + coaches in your room to develop the talent physically and mentally = success.
Snyder v Coon. Smart match by both wrestlers. Coon has the advantage if not taken down as witnessed by the longer riding time. He has a lot of weight for Kyle to displace in order to escape. Dustin Fox beat J.D. under similar circumstance, except J.D. did not have a leg attack like Kyle. Look for more of the same from Coon in the rubber match. Kyle needs to score a takedown to win. No 0-0, 1-1 stuff.
Minkel ran MSU into the ground. Barry Davis is stepping away at the right time.
