141: Hayes
149: Sasso
157: Mattox
165: Smith/Romero

I think this lineup has merit but would also consider redshirting Heinselman.

Moore has already redshirted. Are you talking about an Olympic RS?

That's my assumption.
There'd be a lot of pain with this lineup but sometimes you have to step back to move forward. And some of the young wrestlers would be a lot of fun to watch.

I like this approach. It’s essentially an investment that I think will pay a very nice return.

If this was to be the case, this would be one of the few times I would be an advocate of a redshirt and also give one to Heinselman. No use wasting a year out of him if you're shooting for a title run in 2021. I'd have faith in the Koontz brothers to fill in for a year.

That's correct, Joe. Moore qualifies as he already has Junior World and U23 World medals.
I don't think this will actually happen but Singletary making 211 (I think that's the weight, right?) made me start to ponder if that's what they were thinking.
EDIT: Also, this provides Hayes with a legit shot at a title (not saying he would win one) at what I believe is his optimal weight class.

I don’t think there is any way that Moore redshirts. Firstly, he either has to go up to 97 kg and challenge Snyder, or he has to suck down to 87 kg and battle Cox, Taylor, MyMar, probably Nickal, and the “illustrious†PD3, among others. Moore has been an elite level upperweight that has a real shot to win a title next year; however, I have no delusions about him being able to compete with that group regardless of the weight he goes.
Secondly, has Tom Ryan (with the exception of Stieber’s sophomore year) ever sent out anything less than his absolute best team? They’ve got a fan base, an AD, a university, and a wrestling community to appease. Cael Sanderson certainly isn’t taking next year off, and neither is Iowa.
Lastly, I don’t think the redshirting will happen because of the recruiting depth the Bucks have compiled. I believe the program is beyond “punt†years, and they have the depth and talent to challenge every year without having to intentionally hold guys back. Nothing is guaranteed by redshirting. Injuries, disinterest, and life in general can all derail the best laid plans.

It's been mentioned in an interview that the plan is for Singletary to drop to 197 after Moore graduates. His win by tech fall over 197 AA Honis (in freestyle albeit) suggests he would do well there.
If this is the lineup next year what does your 2021 lineup look like? If Hayes does well and is an AA, does he apply for a 6th year medical waiver for 2021?

For the life of me, I can't figure out why the D1 coaches don't ask the NCAA to switch 197 to 220 lbs. There are so many wrestlers killing themselves to make this cut especially with the 215 class in high school. Just go 174, 189, 220 and 299.

I won’t disagree but why stop there? The 125 weight class is a bear too.
130
138
146
154
162
170
182
195
220
285

I think college would be wise to have weights that are very similar to the international weights in non-Olympic years.

100% agree Brady.
57 kg (125 lb)
61 kg (134 lb) (non-Olympic class)
65 kg (143 lb)
70 kg (154 lb) (non-Olympic class)
74 kg (163 lb)
79 kg (174 lb) (non-Olympic class)
86 kg (190 lb)
92 kg (203 lb) (non-Olympic class)
97 kg (214 lb)
125 kg (276 lb)
197 as a weight class has been awful in terms of depth and overall quality in recent years. You would think it would be more cyclical.
