Discussion Topic: Bryce Hepner switches commitment from Rutgers to OHST
Mark Niemann added to this discussion on November 20, 2019
Recently, St. Eds stud Bryce Hepner switched his commitment. I would LOVE to know details, but am not entitled to them.
Also, OHST is not a traditional landing spot for St. Eds wrestlers*...could the tide be turning???
*although not a traditional landing spot, they have received the most commits (4) among D-I teams in the last decade or so. (stat credit to Ben Golden & Brandon Olinger.)

Cade Hepner is listed on the OSU roster at 165. Brothers perhaps?

Good pick up for the Bucks. Hepner is Eds trained and fits an area of potential need.

Any chance this pick-up could sway any potential recruits who may also don the green and gold?? **cough** Gallagher...

Word on the street is that many Eagles have left the state to pursue their wrestling goals due to the stalking nature of a certain 4 time sectional qualifier that resides in the central Ohio area.
They have been turned off by the rumors of restraining orders obtained by Buckeye greats to keep away a certain crazy fanatic.

Good question. As you know Mark, I have deep connections as I know someone who knows someone who knows someone.
In all seriousness, Gallagher's Dad is registered on this site. I see no reason why we shouldn't grovel and beg for his help.

I'm certainly not above begging. But groveling, Hank??? Surely you jest.

I see those as the most "locked in" weights moving forward (if Echemendia and Sasso combine in one way or another for 149/157) with Carson at 165.
Hepner is a stud no doubt -- and having hammers competing with hammers is a very good situation for the Buckeyes team.

I think Bryce is undervalued as a recruit. He’s much better than his overall ranking suggests. He had some matches not go his way during some of the elite summer tournaments or else he’d be much higher.
As exciting as Enchemendia may be there are about hundred things that could not pan out with him. The fact is with his background you have to wonder how he will adapt to life as a college student athlete. Will he even be a 157? There are lots of conflicting reports about where he may end up, and I think TR probably doesn’t even know for sure how this looks. TR has also always supported a family environment. This will make the fourth set of brothers he’s recruited to be apart of the program: Snyder’s, Jordan’s, Koontz, etc.
