I will let the smart guys opine on these matchups.

I can’t use my two tickets for Friday. If anyone wants them, just respond and I will next day them to you at my cost. I just would like to see them used.

They aren’t Jason’s big shot floor seats but they are really good. In the middle of one of the sections mat high.

Go Bucks!

I see they listed Cleary or Kinner at 157 Fri. night. I'd like to see Kinner vs Maryland rather than Nebraska kid at this point. Just want to see how he handles himself at that weight. Let Cleary have the Neb. kid, he will keep it close.

I have one ticket available for the match on Friday if anyone wants to come sit with me.

FYI for anyone interested - PHENOMENAL seats. Better company.

Mr. Muni-Lot, I too would like to see how Kinner handles/is handling 157. Cleary has proved he can keep matches close against many formidable oppnenents. Would like to see if Kinner could do the same while putting together a little bit more offense than what Cleary has shown.

I just hope we win a match.

I'm skeptical that Kinner can come close to what we're seeing out of Cleary. It's not a question of ability. It's the fact he began this season as a 141 and made an insane cut for a minute. He has not had time to make the adjustment to the higher weight class. He needs a full offseason in the weight room.

Or so I think.

My one question at this point is can he effectively get the boots in and put in an effective ride against someone who will probably be stronger than him, at this point in the season. I know he was effective against the smaller guys but can he hold down a 157 guy and possibly get some back points? I hope we get to see him vs Maryland tomorrow. Definitely use Cleary in the Neb. match though.

Just heard the TR interview, I get my wish, Kinner to start on Fri. He said Hoffman & Koontz will be at Edinboro Open this weekend with Koontz going 125.

Koontz at 125 at Edinboro. Could this be a development. With Koontz success at 133 and Malik's apparent regression I'd be interested to see how this goes in the room.

There’s two Koontz brothers. One of which already is at 125 right? Am I missing something.

TR said he's moved down from 133, so that would be Dylan, who did well at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas at 133.

In spite of placing at Vegas, the staff felt removing Decatur from redshirt was preferable to making Koontz a regular starter. But now he's possibly the best option if he's down at 125? Ok....

This staff loves to suck guys down a weight in spite of massive proof that most of them wrestle better with a smaller cut. Maybe that's me thinking like an old high school coach and not the head of a top D1 program?

I agree that there is plenty of evidence that minimal weight cut allows a wrestler to be the best version of himself. Pointing to Luke Pletchers performance this year is a perfect example of that. It is highly likely that Koontz may well be the best version of himself at 133 (or maybe 141). That doesn’t mean he may not be a better option at 125 than what has represented TOSU at that weight to this point in the season. I think that that is all TR is doing here. Finding that individual on the Buckeyes current roster that provides our team with its best option.
I will also add that because he represented TOSU at the CKL, he is on the eligibility clock. He likely is eager for the opportunity to be in the lineup and to do what is necessary to achieve that goal, just as we have seen from Quinn Kinner this season (as well as many other athletes over the years).

I agree with this but I think TRs analysis is that 125 is strong enough that Malik has no shot of scoring. He may also have crunched the numbers and found if certain things happen, a couple of points here and there may be enough to actually win, like in 2009 (if I remember correctly).

If Pletch and Kollin can get titles, high AAs from Sasso and Romero, any AA from Smith, Rocky, Decatur, can they win with any points from somewhere else? I don’t know.

Iowa’s supposed insurmountable lineup seems more broad than deep. In other words, it would not surprise me if any of the following finished low AA (Lugo, Young, cassippi) or no AA (Murin, Assad, Warner).

This is not a prediction of anything except what TR may thinking.

I like your optimism...but it would take a perfect storm for Ohio State to even come close.

The low end of Iowa's realistic outcomes (assuming no injuries) is probably somewhere in the low 100's. OSU could conceivably beat that mark with 6 AA's and 3 champs, but it's a huge long shot.

If the rumors are true and Eierman makes his debut tonight--might as well put it to bed.
