He had Berger all but beaten (bad ref call ended up playing a role). And he just crushed a very good Alec Pantaleo for true 3rd. He's making progress.
Sasso has finished 5,2,2 at NCAA's. He's in the midst of one of the all time great Buckeye careers. I will be rooting hard for him to cap off next season with a title.

If he wins where do you put him? Above Tomasello?

#4 - Nathan Tomasello - 2018 - 1,3,3,3
#5 - Myles Martin - 2019 -1,5,2,3

#7 - Kollin Moore- 2020- 4,4,2, Covid
Stieber and Tomasello are both 4x Big Ten champs. Sammy would be shooting for his third Big Ten title (4 x finalist.) He would be in elite company for finalist appearances. I do think he is probably the least dominate of this list. I would venture that he has the least number of tech falls on this list. Probably higher pin ratio then several.

Sammy is a testament in perseverance. After struggling two years ago and again early last year, it was easy to ask whether the field had caught up to him. Then he turned it on and started crushing almost everyone. Go win that natty.

I would put J at 4 in the list and you can make a strong argument for either Sammy or Nate after that. Nate was a hair from being a three time champ and the guts he showed by finishing third after three gut wrenching losses in the semis give him the nod imo.

Agree with your list, except Kollin Moore behind Mymar and ahead of Pucillo, knocking Palmer out of the top ten. Can’t hold the Covid year against him which robbed him of being 3,4,2,1.

I don't think I could stomach Moore over Pucillo. Pucillo was wonderfully consistent his whole career... until injury-plagued senior year.

You're saying Moore was not consistent? Only losses his Jr year were to Nickal and had no losses his Sr year. Nerve damage in his neck/shoulder his sophomore year are likely the only reason he didn't get a title that season and he still only had 4 losses.
Not sure I'd use consistency as a reason to place Pucillo above Moore.

No you’re right, Moore was consistent too, except for the odd NCAA losses.
Pucillo just did it against better competition I think. 6th as a frosh. Won it as a sophomore with undefeated* record, beating Varner in the NCAA finals. Very consistent winner over guys like Phil Keddy throughout his career. Lost in finals his junior year Hodge winning Herbert, giving him what was probably his toughest match of the year even though he had sliced his hand to the bone with a box cutter a week or so before.
Wheels fell off senior year.
Moore should have won it his sophomore year and didn’t get it done. No one in that bracket should have beaten him, but he had a rare lapse of inconsistency so he’s not an NCAA champ. Bummer about COVID.
Maybe I’m wrong in my assessment, I just think Pucillo was wicked good and consistent every out. Moore much the same, but just a little less so IMO.
