125: Mcrone v Capul
133: Buzakis v #16 Brown
141: Mendes v Lemus
149: D’Emilio v #29 Miller
157: Wilcox v North
165: Hepner v Money
174: Welsh v Bell
184: Shumate v Bielnik
197: Geog v #4 Smith
285: Feldman v Gabriel

Although improving, Maryland will only be favored in one match. The back end of the Big Ten dual season ramps up after this week. The depth of this team certainly is on display throughout the course of this month following the loss of several starters to potentially season ending injuries.

285-No. 17 Nick Feldman (R-Fr.) vs No. 23 Seth Nevills (Gr.)
or Sam O’Brian (R-So).

Maryland has a lot of either/or guys listed. Feldman/Nevills could be an interesting match up if it happens.

1) Brendan McCrone is an AA candidate at this weight. He's got holes but his top game has tightened up. Heck, he could be NCAA champ at this weight.

2) Rocco Welsh is the most polished true frosh since Jesse Mendez. Yes, that's sort of a joke but also true. Rare to find a big true frosh who wrestles with his technique and skill in all positions.

3) Bryce Hepner is the guy none of the studs at this wt want to see. Funky and dangerous, he's fun to watch.

4) Seth Shumate looked excellent last night. Maybe he's more relaxed since the weight class is his.

5) Bouzakis seems to have settled down and is consistently winning. It's a brutal weight up top with Fix and Arujau but he's definitely in the running for a spot in the 5-8 range at NCAA's.

Good night for the Bucks as a whole. Penn State and Michigan still loom large on the schedule and that will give us more insights into who these guys are. But so far the Bucks remain a big surprise especially given the losses of Sammy, Paddy, Kharchla and Hoffman. The coaching staff has shown a nice touch with this team and the young guys continue to show us a lot.

For those of you who watched the dual, Alex Clemsen is now Alex Clemens.

I agree, Bouzakis does seemed to have settled down after a shaky start. I remember people saying he was giving up his leg too often but now he has adjusted and wrestles on one knee at the start of his matches, not giving up that early takedown. I like the way Shumate is trying to ride more after he gets the TD, which is what I would like to see Geog do.
