The RS freshman acquitted himself well in a tight loss to No. 9 Caleb Fish. He used good flexibility to thwart a couple of takedowns and made Fish’s night tougher than expected.
Hard to say if Chase will ever be a full-time starter but there’s something here. He’s done well at open tournaments and last night in his Big Ten debut he showed up ready to scrap. Let’s hope the staff invests time into his continued development.
Chase is part of that huge 2023 recruiting class. Seven members took the mat last night. Like classmate Brendan McCrone, Chase is outperforming expectations.

You beat me to it. I saw video of Chase earlier in the season and was pleasantly surprised by his toughness. There's a lot to like about the way he competes and the technique he shows. The Bucks depth has grown exponentially over the last few seasons.

It is hard to keep good depth ecspecially with the new NCAA landscape. Ohio state has four guys right now that are backups that are top 25 guys. Wilcox, cannon, kilkeary, and Shumate are all NCAA qualifiers this year if they went. It’s going to be hard to convince all these guys to come back when they can start at most programs. Guys like Gary traub, rocky jordan, Quinn kinner, Jordan Decatur, (will betancourt lol) all wanted to wrestle. I have a feeling we may lose some guys next year.
