Quote from Brian Mathews's post:

Quote from Ben Golden's post:

"I was genuinely shocked that neither Mekhi Lewis nor Shane Griffith tested that leg or even Starocci's lateral movement AT ALL. Each of them did precisely nothing the entire first periods of the matches. Those guys are national champs themselves. "

I think worth noting both Griffith and Lewis were far from 100% themselves.

6 and 7 years of college wrestling is too many."

Add Daton fix to that list.

I re-watched Carr-Mesenbrink last night. Those first two stall calls were pure garbage. The third may have met 5 second count for not returning to mat.

I was impressed with Bartlett too as his outward expression after getting taken down went from dam to aw shucks I screwed up and was not a Brandsesque running off the mat tantrum styler. Rather he was a chief and sportsman about it.

I was a fan before and even more so now. These PSU guys all seem to have a perfect mentality to wrestle at an extremely high level -- they put performance above results.

I was equally impressed with Fix -- and probably should be more so given it was his last shot and probably the biggest disappointment of them all -- AND given how the fans were booing him so aggressively.

They both handled their disappointment with pure class. Thinking back on it, I didn't see any guys at this tournament (obviously didn't see every match) where they displayed poor sportsmanship post-match. It was very refreshing.
