On paper the Bucks are favored in 7 of 10. The Scarlet Knights lost an AA candidate at 174 and Sammy Alvarez can no longer make 133. No matter, Rutgers still boasts that this is the best top to bottom lineup they have put together in the Goodale era, and they absolutely believe they can knock off a weary Ohio State squad that comes into the RAC Sunday after taking on the top three teams in the country back, to back, to back. Luckily they squeezed in a drubbing of Maryland and an off week in between. After Friday nights beat down I’m inclined to think that sitting some of the lineup was intentional in hopes of preparing the team for Sunday. Rutgers always wrestles the Bucks tough, and this will be no different. The matchup at 184, should it happen, has massive seeding implications for Romero. The Bucks need to Bonus at 165 and 174 to offset 141. 133 could be winnable for the Bucks, but I’d have to wonder where the Koontz brothers heads are at. They’ve seemingly been sacrificial lambs for four years. That doesn’t build up a lot of confidence. Should be some good viewing for Sunday.

Jordan Decatur is set to wrestle momentarily in the Edinboro Open at, yes folks, 133 pounds!! And I thought he was lost for the season.
And he gets beat 4-3 by a kid from Appalachian State in his first match.

That's a drag no Carson. Is Carson injured? Also Hamiti looks like quite a challenge.

And of additional possible interest is that he is wrestling attached. So apparently not going to seek an injury redshirt. Maybe thinking he could be inserted into the lineup for big tens? I don’t understand what someone is thinking…..

Rocky and Gavin are two big time recruits who have had issues at times as starters. Today they showed huge balls. Rocky riding for 45 seconds to win. Gavin finishing an OT shot against #6. Congrats to both. They won the dual.

Well, my previous comment didn’t age well..lol. I’m not sure we win this dual a year ago. I remember watching Rocky lose to Poz last year and legitimately being in disbelief that he would lose to a freshman. Poz went on to have a great first year, and it became apparent that he is the future of the Big 10 after all these super seniors leave. Rocky looked highly motivated to right that wrong from last year. He attacked from the very begging, got out from the bottom without issue, and road like a dog when it mattered. Good for him. On the other side of things I think this only reinforces that there is a gap between Aaron Brooks/Amine and Kaleb. Not a sizable one, but there is one. Then there is a gap between Kaleb and everyone else in my opinion.
Is it possible that Hoffman has turned the corner? I’m still concerned that he struggles to generate his own offense at times. He seems too willing to rely on scrambling too soon in matches. If a match comes down to scrambling, for a 197, he’s going to do well against most opponents.
Two big wins, from two of the more inconsistent members of the team. They dragged the Bucks to victory today .

One thing about Gavin is he never stops wrestling hard, all 7 minutes. After a 1 point loss to Warner, a SV loss to Dean, he finally gets a win against a top ten guy, well done.
