This may have already been posted but Daniel Dennis from Iowa is now out.

Porter vs Ellis. Let's go KSU.

Ellis beats Porter. Porter gets the first takedown, then gives up a very questionable takedown out of bounds. You could tell he was upset at the call and he let it get into his head. Unfortunately Porter couldn't regain his aggressiveness and let Ellis sit on the lead. Good job getting to the semifinal and it couldn't happen to a nicer, bigger guy. With Bedelyon getting AA, KSU is back.

Anyone got an update on final team scores for the night? When I left the tourney osu was at 77.5, which didn't include Pucillo's match.

from the live blog on InterMat they have...

tOSU 84.5
Iowa 81
ISU 71.5
Nebraka 69.5
Edinboro 63.5

How many points can Iowa win if all of their consos win? Does anyone know the point values for placing third or for winning a title? Just trying to do some math here and see what our chances are.

If their guys win it out we're done, period. Iowa has 4 in the consolation brackets, if they all take 3rd, I think that gives them 4 points each. So that's 16 points and that's not including Metcalf. They have to lose, we have to win, desperately and BIG.

However, I have no idea if the consolation semis have already been wrestled and those points that Iowa got are the result.

Palmer has to go against Patacsil tomorrow, who he beat at Big Tens, but Colt lost his cons. 2-0, and now he's out. Wow, he loses a heartbreaking quarters & a close cons. and he's gone. BTW I'm not conceding Iowa running the table. Dennis is going for 7th, not 3rd. Morningstar has to get by Fay, and Erickson faces Zabriskie. Keddy is the most likely to run the table, but he might have to face the Rider kid who beat him already.

Sponseller might want to work on his mat wrestling - especially bottom - in this offseason. He got ridden out in the third period of his last two matches, something that cannot happen when you're competing at the highest levels of collegiate wrestling (especially in close matches).

I'm going to be honest, Iowa is favored tomorrow. It's amazing that the Hawkeyes are in this position despite having what would have to be a disastrous NCAA tournament compared to their expectations.

The 6 AA's for Ohio is lower than the last couple years, but not that bad. Third most for any state. PA had 12, back to their rightful catbird seat position; and NJ with 10.

Quote from Bob Preusse's post:

"wth true freshman Howe in 165 finals, when is last time a TRUE freshman won NCAAs ??????? Cael was a redshirt."

Bob, you REALLY should know this. Dustin Schlatter!

Josh, I agree that Colt has got to get off bottom better. I was watching King/Reader match, and King got out every time Reader had to hold him, and this is a kid Colt beat in the Edinboro dual. Now he's going for the National championship.

"Bob, you REALLY should know this. Dustin Schlatter! "

oh yeh Dustin, someone mentioned Teyon Ware too. Old age dulls the memory i guess. Its quite a rarity for a true freshman to win it.--- Of course going back to the early 70s, Pat Milkovich won it and is still the youngest NCAA champ ever, 18 years and a few months.

an all Stark County final at 174, Steve Luke vs Mike Miller . Mike Miller wow, 3 very very very unexpected finalists, him and the Duke 285 Dudzinski and Jarrod King at 165.

how many recall King had Steve Lukes number in high school, beat him 3 times in the Beast, then Luke finally turned the tables in NHSCA senior finals when Luke got coin toss in OT and escaped. King went to Oklahoma then trf back home to Edinboro, a Connelsville PA boy Jarrod King.

maybe Ohio st is destined to continue their recent string of SECONDS: twice runnerup in BCS football title game in recent years, NCAA runnerup in basketball 3 years ago, 2nd in wrestling one year ago-- now maybe again ??

Really PROUD of KENT St, obviously a new era there, 2 AAs and a top 20 finish.

Predictions for finals?

125: Donahoe over Nickerson
133: Humphrey over Gomez
141 Jaggers over Williams
149 Metcalf over Caldwell. I hope I'm wrong. It's time for The Spladle Part II.
157 Tough call here. Burroughs double is unreal but Poeta is incredibly quick. I'm going with Poeta over Burroughs.
165. King over Howe
174. Luke over Miller, it's too tough to score on Luke.
184. Pucillo over Herbert, based solely on we need the points.
197. I'd love to see Brester win, he was impressive in his win over Todd. I'm not a big Varner fan so Brester over Varner.
285. Dudziak pulls the upset over Ellis.

Keddy wins 6-1. It's going to be tough to hold off Iowa.
