I looked back at the open's he was in and he wrestled unattached in them, so I'm guessing he is redshirting.

"Garcia is on the roster....however the latest newsletter gives a wt. by wt. roster breakdown and he is not on that."
|
Well, there's your answer. Garcia is either hurt or gone.
Towards the end of Coach Hellickson's tenure, the Bucks landed a 4x Indiana state champ named Blake Maurer (sp?). Like Garcia, Maurer had done some nice things nationally and was highly regarded. Like Garcia, he showed potential when healthy enough to compete. I think he developed a neck/spine problem and that was the end for him. I fear Garcia's knees have either ended his career...or will.

OK! So, what is everyone's prediction for the meet tomorrow?
I will say 16-15 Minnesota. I think that Logan's injury is the difference in the match.
MINN. decisions: 125/133(4)/165/185/285 - 16 Points
OSU decisions: 141/149/155/174/197 - 15 Points

I agree with your prediction however I think OSU wins at 125 and Minn. wins at 149. However if Cam could pull out the win I think the Bucks could win the dual. A lot will depend on if Logan wrestlers which I don't think he will but I don't know.

Are any of you going to this dual? I'll be watching via Bucksvision. We're having dinner guests so hopefully the guy will want to check it out.

I was down in the Columbus area on Monday and heard radio spots advertising this dual on two different stations (I think).
I was a little perturbed about the second one. It was on an FM station called "the fan" (Cleveland has something similar with the same name). As soon as the spot aired the announcers came on and talked about the commercial they just heard, one saying he didn't like wrestling, discussing it's difficulty from a broadcasting standpoint, and the other challenging him to list wrestling "terminologies".
It was exciting to to hear the commercials, but then very irksome to hear the immediate "put down", after a fashion.

285 – No. 2 Tony Nelson (15-1; 6-0; 2-0)
AWN/TOM has this as their dual of the week, but their prediction is not reasonable to me. They have the match as 21-9 Minnesota. As for last weeks match, they have every close match (and some where we should be favored) going to Minny.
Last week they got enough of those right in Carver-Hawkeye, but I expect OSU to fare a little better tonight in the more hospitable confines of St. Johns area.
Last week I accused the TOM guy of having Tom Brands make his picks for him. - I could have done the same today for J-Rob.

Does St. John's have an affect on visiting teams/Officials? What is expected attendance tonight?
This match should be on BTN!

125 – Nikko Triggas over David Thorn
133 – Logan Stieber over Chris Dardanes
141 – Hunter Stieber over Nick Dardanes
149 – Dylan Ness over Cam Tessari
157 – Josh Demas over Danny Zilverberg
165 – Cody Yohn over Mark Martin
174 – Logan Storley over Nick Heflin
184 – Kevin Steinhaus over Kenny Courts/C.J. Magrum
197 – Andrew Campolattano over Scott Schiller
285 – Tony Nelson over Peter Capone
I have it 5-5 with bonus making the difference. I think Logan Stieber can get bonus on Dardanse and Triggas is always dangerous. However, Triggas could lose that bout as well and Yohn could bonus Martin. Nelson is a scary heavyweight, but Capone has shown the ability to stay off his back even against the very best.

Michael:
Unless there is new information I'm not aware of, I don't believe that Logan is available. - The official buckeyes site has Lyle Visconti as the starter at 133 as of this morning.
