Discussion Topic: NDC Poised to win D2 Title

I don't see Davis fitting in financially. Academically it sounds like he won't get aid, financially probably could garner some from where he lives. But where would the rest come from since you would think the rest is tied up in the class they are bringing in and the guys already on the team. He stated in an article http://www.cleveland.com/sports/college/index.ssf/2014/03/ncaa_division_ii_wrestling_unb.html he would need a full ride to transfer and I see no plausible way he gets that from osu. Also being out of state leaves anything not covered by aid and scholarship to be much more expensive.

Doesn't he have to establish residency in Ohio for only a brief time (~ 1 year) in order to qualify for in-state tuition? If he has stayed around NDC during the summer months during the last few years, he may already have qualified for the lower tuition.

No offence to NDC, as they are dominating D2, but davis is ready for next challenge, imagine, howe, perry, brown, davis at 174 this year, but with those guys graduating it opens the opportunity, he woudnt be halserig but still accomplish a great deal being a 2 x d2 and 2x d1 champ never been done?

I was thinking Jody Stritmatter, but he was 2x DII champ and a DI 3rd & 2nd. Close, but no cigar.

Congratulations to Caoch Romano and the entire NDC team. - They won their first D2 National Championship, and amassed 4 individual titles along the way.

The following is a good feature article on them from TOM/AWN.

at least one other, in the day such comp was permitted-- one was Wade Schalles of Clarion eligible only for the 1972 and 1973 meets, he won both Division II and Division I twice, and was outstanding wrestler of both events as a sophomore.
