Perhaps he doesn't get past Aiello or DePrez without a little Cael magic...
But the biggest benefit he had this year was a weight class devoid of top level talent.

I thought Aiello had back points but without the correct angle, tough to overturn what was called. For the life of me, I have no idea how the no td called on the mat was overturned vs DePrez. I’ve watched the video from a couple different angles on top of watching live — and see no criteria for a td that was met to overturn what the ref saw from 2 ft away.

Agree. I don't particularly care either way given that it didn't impact the team race. But Dean clearly didn't have his best stuff for the first few sessions, and it probably should have cost him.
Tough for Aiello who's been close for years but never broke through to AA.

Listened to an interview with Betancourt regarding his transfer.
He wanted an opportunity to wrestle off Heinselman for the 125 spot prior to Big 10's because he was "scrapping pretty good with him" in the room. As delusional as that is, he sounded bitter to not have been given that chance.
I didn't listen to the entire interview because it's 25 minutes too long, but he otherwise said he liked the coaches and wrestlers at Ohio State but thinks he needs to go somewhere else to reach his goals.
PSU told him they want him at 125. We'll see how that works out.

I don't think Betancourt really thinks through his decisions. Or he gets bad advice. If he couldn't establish himself as the starter for the Bucks at 133, what are the odds he transfers to PSU and beats out Howard at 125?

Haha I agree but could be worse he could’ve went to PSU.
Now one of their top recruits is in portal who went 18-2 and lost to Hart and to AA Alvirez
