Ian looks like Hunter last year on Saturday. The pressure is off and he's just opening up and wrestling. Someone on this board often talks about the mental side of college wrestling...

Which leads me to say... I appreciate the 3rd place finishers nearly as much as the champs. They took their disappointment, put it behind them quickly, and continued to wrestle. We have seen a couple of champs and previous finalists just come apart after losses in the tourney this year.

Props to Miller for wrestling a great match today after the heart breaker last night. With 2 years left, a national (or 2) is a reasonable expectation.

Forgive me for bringing this up.
I couldn't help but think back to watching so many of this year's All-Americans wrestle in the Ironman (especially the 2008). I wonder what the total count is.

its his brother -- there were 2 Cruz bros from Bethlehm Catholic PA at Ironman 2/3 years ago. In 2010 Tomasello beat Darian Cruz in 103 finals, Cruz took 3rd in 2011.
This Lehigh AA we just saw was Randy Cruz who in 2011 upset Mark Grey at 132 and then beat Edgar Bright in Ironman finals.

ok James, i got my Cruz' mixed up, thought it was Randy, so then it was the AA Darian that Tomasello beat-- bodes well for Tomasello. Should be a big upgrade.

The top four at 133 are outstanding and each is good enough to be champ. They are clearly separate from the rest of the weight.
Same thing at 141 with Logan, Port, Retherford and Carter except that Logan is a step above (I don't believe in jinxes).
