Jeff-
You are probably right. I don't know and lumped it altogether. Would take some further investigation.

Ultimately, it's the old Mighty Mouse v Superman debate. ..."

Mark: You think Mighty Mouse could beat up Superman?
Hank: What are you cracked?
Mark: Why not?! I saw the other day he was carrying five elephants in one hand.
Hank: Boy you don't know nothing. Mighty Mouse is a cartoon. Superman is a real guy. No way a cartoon could beat up a real guy.
Mark: Yeah, maybe you're right. Would be a good fight, though.

Gene Mills was a machine, very tough on the top. Funny little bit about his finals match, Gene was from the era of yo yo weight control. His Sr year, you made weight on the first day of comp in the am; then if you qualified you could make weight that night. After he won the to get to the semi's, he had to cut 14 lbs in 3 hrs. This year the finals were going to be live on ABC (I believe) on Sunday, normally, the would of been on Sat night. It was reported, Gene weighted more than all of the 126's, 134's and one or both of the 142's.
I find it hard not to have Gable in the top 5. He is what everyone form the 70's and midway through the 80's, was reconized as the best ever. In 82' on their way to winning I believe their 10th NC as a team, It was reported by a few of their wrestlers, at 38 or so, Gable challanged the whole team to a TD match, and starting with 118 lber all through 285 he took them down, then went from 285 to 118 and he won everyone.
All in all, this question is good for discussion, but its very hard when you cross so many era's.
So my 5:
Gable
P. Smith
Dake
Sanderson
Kemp
