Results are updated on KSU's site.
I want to give props to Quentin Keyes from OU who beat nationally ranked Sean Clair from EMU in the first round. He now will face Kent State's Dan Mitcheff in the semis.
OU is in the semis at 133, 141, 149, 157, and 174.
KSU is in the semis at 125, 133, 141, 165, 184, 197, and 285.

CMU lost in the semis at the frist three weight classes, opening the door for KSU.
A name familiar to Ohio fans, Pat McLemore pinned the second seed at 141. Luke Smith lost inexplicably to the EMU wrestler at 125.
This is information garnered from kentstate.rivals.com, from poster Steve Hare. (just want to give proper credit)
Lashaway beats Germane Lindsey 7-6.

Mr. Adelman - I'm doing great! Hope Marcus is doing well!
As an OU fan I am pretty pleased with this weekend. Considering they have 7 freshman in the line up, I think they competed very well. Even matches they lost (Chine beating true frosh Schuth on a last second TD, Lindsey losing 7-6 to the stud Lashaway, etc.) With the group sitting in red shirt right now, there is some optimism.
KSU has had a good tourney. The only losses that they would be upset with would be at 49 and 84, but Blackwell's win has to ease some of those pains. Bedelyon should win a title as a true freshman, very impressive.
As always, the wild card meeting should be filled with drama. For CMU, who was hoping to make a run at a top three finish, it has been a tough weekend. Smith, Beebe, and Krueger still have work to do, and I would think they were counting on points from Smith and Krueger at nationals.
Smith, epescially, will need some very good fortune to qualify. I can't see 2 wc's coming from 125.

There have been some sizeable upsets so far. Do they wrestle a true second place match?
How many wildcards are awarded? I've gotta think the loser of Gross v Stewart gets one as both are legit AA candidates. Also, 285 with Gritter and Porter.

Marcus is doing very well. He joined the working world doing some kind of computer work. After 5 years of college with little money, he is like a kid in a candy store. A boat, truck, house and all kinds of neat computer games keep him happy and busy. I'm hoping for a little wrestler to come along in the future.
OU isn't scoring well but I think they will be fine. I think they should have a pretty good recruiting class this year as well. Maybe a surprise (ala Percival) could emerge.
I was thinking of going today but the weather says no. I'm glad the internet keeps me posted.

Hank - 9 WC's.
I think Smith will be out for CMU, seeing as how he cannot wrestle for true second. Bedelyon won in the finals.

A wrestler can only wrestle for a true second place if he lost to the champion in the championship bracket.

Its being reported by a poster on TheMat that McLemore beat Lashaway (wow, he's a stud) and Castillo beat Mitcheff.
It would be nice to have some live updates somewhere, but I'll keep posting what I can find.

the only way Smith goes to nationals at 125 is if the MAC takes three - because I can't see a scenario where they take a three without a two.
141 is going to get three for sure with McLemore winning and Lashaway and Kruger both ranked (I think).
149 and 157 are one bid weights in my opinion. Heck, you could argue 157 should be a zero-bid weight (but that isn't allowed). 197 might also be a one bid weight.
Basically, my guess is that to get a third bid at 125 - 157, 149, and 197 are all one bid weights (my guess is that 157 and 149 were reduced to one anyway).
The third at 133 may be the odd one out now in addition to those two's.

A big change in things comes at 141 where Lindsay upsets Kruger in the 3/4 match. That means you have a kid that beats Jaggers and Gallick not getting out of the MAC tournament (as well as a defending MAC champion) - shows you how low the margins are in the MAC. Nice week to show good form for Germane.
I'm thinking five of the wild cards are very solid with the finals and true seconds complete:
133 Mitcheff, 141 Lashaway, 165 Gross, 174 Burk, and 285 Porter
I feel comfortable with 125 Novak and 141 Lindsay getting spots as well - that brings Ohio and Eastern into the NCAA tournament.
Then for the last two spots, it's three guys seeking them: Smith 125, Beebe 133, and Pineaar 184.
No way 149 and 157 get a second kid.

Congrats to Germane Lindsey. Beating Krueger is very impressive.
Congrats to the qualifiers from both Ohio schools, represent the MAC well.
I am SHOCKED that Smith got in. This seems like a real injustice to me. The EMU kid beat him head to head this weekend!!!
I have been following the MAC very closely for about 10 years now and cannot recall a situation where a third gets a wild card over a second.
Borelli is a great coach, and apparently an even better salesman!
I would have rather seen Krueger go than Smith, IMO.

Ethan: I agree. That was a bad precedent to set. What's the point in wrestling the tourney if you're going to give it to the third placer over the true second?
