That’s funny.
Would this have been available to Echemendia? Would have liked to see him there.

I'm not as familiar with the international/FS scene as I am college.
Can someone tell if this is normally a "big" tournament? Is this field considered stronger or weaker compared to previous years?

It will be interesting to see how Gallagher matches up with college studs like Massa, Deakin, and Wick if he makes it to that point. Also interested in a potential Kyle Snyder vs. Kolin Moore match at 97 kg, although Gadson or Walz could prevent that from happening. Nice to see Buckeye upperweights Hoffman and Orndorff competing.

Looking at the seeds, here are some thoughts:
57 KG: I think the seeds hold for the most part, and Vitali takes the belt.
65 KG: Man, Pletcher at the 11 seed is crazy. I see him beating Heil and then Henderson, and he's definitely got a shot at beating Eirman too. I think McKenna takes the crown.
74 KG: Anthony Valencia is overseeded, and Hidlay takes him out in the quarters. I think the Deakin/Carr winner beats Massa and wins the whole thing.
86 KG: This weight is DEEP. I could see Jackson winning it or losing to Dean in the quarters, and neither is a shock. I think the Dean/Hidlay semi winner is your champ.
97 KG: Snyder-Moore final, and I am really hoping Moore beats him. I wouldn't bet on it though.
125 KG: Hoping Orndorff puts on a good performance. Wish he would have gotten Paris to see the matchup. I think he gets by Tanner Hall, who has to be close to qualifying for Masters competition, and loses to Bradley. Bradley wins it.

Boykins wins 97KG Greco and beats Braxton Amos in Semi
Koontz lost in Semi and one took 5th and other 7th and Fritz took 7th as well.
Buckeye well represented

Considerably weaker this year. This is a premier senior level event and usually has implications for world team trials via sitting out until the finals for weights without a returning world medalist.
Boykin looked great. Greco is his thing and he has a future in it. Looked really strong positionally against young top prospect Amos.
Also, I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that Colton Schultz will be our next Greco world champ. Kid looks like the real deal with Greco in his blood and, with the right physical maturation, has a shot to be world elite at some point.
