I do not get the hype with betancourt. He is a clear third stringer at 133. He wrestled in the freshman and sophomore division at Michigan state and his results were not good. Wasn’t a top 100 recruit in high school. He needs to improve and a lot to ever make the lineup. Don’t see it happening.

We know you aren’t a fan of the kid and reading Jason’s post he didn’t hype the kid at all. He only mentioned he was wrestling at the open at 133.

I’m not “piling on” but I haven’t noticed anyone hyping up Betancourt on this forum, and certainly not in this post.

I don’t get the hype either. Let’s see how he does this season and reassess.

I am a fan of anyone Ohio state but he may be the most overhyped recruit we ever had. I severely doubt he ever makes the lineup. I do not see why people keep mentioning him. He probably won’t even place. He is not a problem solver at 133. Koontz and Gonzales are both better than him. Bouzakis will be ther next year. Look at the Michigan state results alone in the jv division. I hope the kid is a all American but he isn’t even close to varsity at this Point.

Gallagher with a 13 second pin. Why is he in the White division and not the Gold???
BTW Malik struggled (5-4) to beat a West Liberty wrestler, turned out he was the #1 D-2 National Champ.

I haven't figured out a way to watch this event. Doesn't seem to be on Flo or on Track. Has anyone found a way?

Bruce, I signed up before the start, and after it started the video feed never came, plus the tab for video disappeared. Now I have to dig around to get a refund, very frustrating. Consider yourself lucky you never signed up for the pay-per-view, which never came.

Kharchla wins 9-8 against a kid from Tiffin? Not good.

I saw that, he was up 6-0 and got reversed, then pinned. Not what you want to see going into the Va. Tech match next week.
