210 tickets sold this year. We are buying 500 for next year. Your presence was known and seen at the venue, and we reminded our wrestlers off all of the Buckeye faithful that would tune in on ESPN. It ABSOLUTELY motivated them! The Ohio Wrestling Community IS the #1 x-factor for our program. Thank you for everything! GO BUCKS!!!!
Here's a photo of the Buckeye fans at Nationals!
That says it all!

Thanks

Actually the 210 reminded us back home! It seemed more like 21,000 on national TV when you could here a distinct "O-H" chant and a "let's get three" chant during the telecast,it brought chills to all us who couldnt attend. These men and your staff deserve it,its easy to be behind a runner-up (for now) team built by "our" guys. Congratulations to the entire team and staff for these accomplishments.I think it is also safe to say to everyone involved and supporting... GET USED TO IT!!!
Also congrats on your Pan-Am Gold, it sure is fun to win!

Great Pic! But doesn't it look like Heskett is conducting an orchestra of hand clappers?
Congratulations Buckeye staff and wrestlers!

Did anyone notice that the wresters' names are no longer printed on the Buckeyes singlets. I thought they were cool, but now I realize that not having them makes it more of a team sport. tOSU seems like more of a team/family now. You can really see the joy and love of wrestling from the wrestlers to the coaches. Especially on the blooper reals at the end of The Ohio State Wrestling Show.

Thats a pretty sweet picture. For some odd reason, one of the first things i noticed was Josh Zupancic, Walsh Grad, Standford 157lber, all the way to the right a little more than halfway up the picture with the blonde hair. Pretty random i know...looks like he wanted to cheer on his former teamate with his Ohio buddies.

Maybe it was my television reception, but it didn't strike me anymore than the other teams' fans there.
If you are an OSU fan it is okay to be happy, but let's keep stuff like this in perspective.

Here's more random...Zupancic bears a striking resemblance to Owen Wilson.

Hank
I don't know if you remember the old "Look-Alike" topic on The Mat but here was one I always noticed: Alex Tirapelle looks just like James Van Der Beek from "Dawson's Creek".

Dan and I have discussed this many times, the look-a-like thread was awesome.
Some more:
Tommy Rowlands - Peyton Manning
Troy Nickerson - Angela Lansbury
Nick Simmons - The Grinch
There were more very funny ones but I am having some brainfreeze right now.

I have been to three National championship FB games, six bowls, a final four, nine OSU-Michigan FB games, and over 120 OSU football games. In general a lot of big games at home and on the road. Thousands upon thousands, taking over stadiums, arenas, hotels, blocks, airports, and cities. I have seen big basketball games at St. John and in the Schott. I mention fb and bb because they give an example of the environment that Ohio State fans can create. Wrestling fans only need to turn to the state tournament. They have been in St. John and in the Schott.
The Ohio State team and fans made their presence known in St Louis. There have been few times I was as proud or as happy to hear the crowd start an OH-IO volley across the stands. The people that made the trip were amazing. I recogonize there is difference between sports, but when the Buckeye Nation gets on board; the college wrestling world will not know what hit them.
As wrestling becomes more and more of a priority to Ohio State fans; more and more Buckeyes will.be there and their rumble is going to turn into their roar. A lot of people sat and watched what happened on TV, there is a buzz like never before. Three OSU wrestlers in the finals and two titles opened the eyes of the Buckeye nation.
OH-IO is the start, what happens when it becomes O-H-I-O?
Congrats to every wrestler on the team, the coaches, and everyone with the program on a great season. Thanks to the families, friends, and fans that made this season something special.
Edit to fix my typos
