Feel like I don't hate most of this. Hoping for some payback with DD, Wilcox and Welsh this time around.

Looks like Starocci hurt his knee pretty good in yesterday’s dual and needed to be carried off mat.
A lot of speculation on what he hurt but wouldn’t be shocking if he MFF out of B10 to give more time to heal up.
Hypothetically if you know someone is going to MFF out does that affect their seed? Do you still have them #1?

Knowing nothing of the NCAA rules on this, if someone is not going to compete, why would they be placed on the bracket at all? I ask because, assuming he is good to go for the NCAA's, as a defending champ I would have to think that he would still be the top seed.

If he doesn't enter the B1G tourney then he is ineligible to compete at NCAAs.
I believe he has to take the mat for his first match and inj. default, and then MFF the remainder, but that might not be 100% accurate.

Don't know if rules are the same but in 2010 Big Tens Dustin Schlatter was not seeded but med. defaults out of the first round and the tournament, but gets seeded #6 at NCAA's, but again med defaults out of his first match to end his college career.

Most likely scenario. I think he is done for this year. He could wrestle on one leg. Austin O'Connor finished eighth on one leg. Nolf had barely enough time to heal when he severely sprained his knee. If Starocci has 2nd degree sprain, still doesn't have enough time to heal in 4 weeks. If he tore completely, then he gets surgery to repair.
Should have bailed on that position and not subjected his knee to that torque. I suspect that he hasn't wrestled from that position and did'nt understand that it could end very badly.

Per Flo
For any wrestler considering not wrestling in conferences, there’s an added deterrent against it this year.
The wrestler is required to wrestle in two matches at their conference tournament to be eligible for at large bid.
So instead of one :01 injury def, you’d need two, and they’d both be on your record.
We’ve seen this happen a few times over the years, so this is a pretty notable change.

If Starroci does double forfeit out( which everyone thinks he will). That sets up Rocco Welsh very nicely. He beats Ruth then he is in finals and getting a very good seed at NCAas. That could put him in a very favorable position to all American.
