Breaks his neck as a true frosh (or was it his back...either way it's a brutal injury), spends the year recovering and comes out this year looking like a true frosh who'd missed a year.
Honestly, it was hard to watch Feldman early in the season and not wonder if he was another highly recruited bust. Not a bad wrestler but he looked a bit undersized and got hammered at Vegas.
Well, he gathered himself, got smarter with his attacks, made adjustments and started winning.
He came of age in the Michigan dual and never looked back.
5th in the country with blue sky in front of him is how I'd describe Nick Feldman at the moment. He has been a huge bright spot for a team that has largely overachieved all season.

So many seniors in the heavyweight class too. He could be a National Champ next year.

If Feldman converts that single leg vs Kerkvliet, he would have been going for the championship against a guy he has beaten twice, how crazy would that have been?

About as crazy as Rocco Welsh stepping in for Kharchla and now going for a title.

Next year Ohio state could…….. absolutely make Penn state sweat at least a little. Rocco, Feldman and mendes may all be favorites. Add in Ryder, bouzakis/davino, and a healthy sasso!!! 165, 125, 197 need to go to portal. I think runner up next year should be expected. Excited for the future

Surprised you haven't brought up the fact Will Betancourt went 0-2 at the MAC

Lol I am done with betancourt talk. He is a good kid and I wish the best for him. My assessments I can brag now a little bit lol.
1. One NCAA pickems
2. Betancourt
3. I called welsh 2 mendes 1 and Feldman 5 pre tourney
Next year which everyone gives me hell about
Davino>bouzakis.

Kudos to Bo Jordan. The upperweights coach identified holes to Feldman’s game and got them corrected quickly. Together they were very close to figuring out Kerkvliet. Good coaching.
Bo’s work with Rocco Welsh is equally impressive.
He of course comes from good coaching stock.

It doesn't seem like Tom Ryan is a huge proponent of transfers, but boy would this be interesting.

Respect for Jordan indeed. In fact the whole staff has done quality work this season.
But some of those Nick Feldman leg attacks, esp. the one Rex mentioned (I forget the name for the finish), are vintage Logan Stieber.

Sasso coming back next year is a stretch, if ever. Even without him the bucks are going to be very strong. We could see in 2 years maybe one of the strongest teams they have had barring no major injuries.
You have dd that was a sneeze away from a 2nd AA , a 133lber who in reality had a rough tournament but is just as good as any of the AA'S. You really could have 3 in the championship and another 3 at a minimum that make aa's. That wouldn't beat this year's penn state but they would be the only team that would push them. Penn loses alot but we know they reload better than anyone.
