Here are the entries for Ohio State per trackwrestling.

Davino, Ben Men`s 133 0.0
Gonzales, Andre Men`s 141 0.0

Kind of surprised Rocco isn't registered.

I did not see any unattached wrestlers listed, but last year there were several. Maybe they don't list the unattached prior to the event? I assume Rocco would have to be listed as unattached?

Since all of those listed are "non-scoring", I'm guessing all are unattached.

Birden and Davino get five events (or whatever the number is) for competition, correct? The rest are all burning a year anyway. Rocco is the lone non freshman redshirt. That’s the only explanation I can think of. It’s kinda sad how far this event has fallen off. This used to be the premier collegiate mid season tournament. It was already headed downhill but when Iowa left that pretty much ended it. I would not be surprised to see several of these guys place for the Bucks. I haven’t looked at the entries but Davino, Id imagine, could make a deep run.

Ranked wrestlers per flo - https://www.flowrestling.org/articles/13325581-ranked-wrestlers-at-the-2024-midlands-championships

If Davino and Birden are unattached, and this is counted as a second semester event, this doesn't count towards their five events.

I remember years ago a few non-collegiate {Olympians} would show up for the Midlands. Glad to see Birden back at 165. This should be a good barometer for where Davino and Birden are at this point.

I see that Davino has wrestled in the Clarion Open and in duals against North Carolina and Iowa State. I am not sure if the Collegiate Duals counted as one event or if each dual was separate, so he has wrestled in either 2 or 3 events out of his five.

Birden wrestled at the Clarion Open and then against Pitt, so he has 3 out of his 5 events left.

Andre Gonzales will find the podium in a relatively weak field at 141.

No Vinny or Cannon unless I missed them.

And I thought Welsh may pop up as an unattached, but no. Wonder if Cannon sustained an injury from that headbutt he took in his dual loss last week? Davino got the #2 seed, that is good.

Andre didn't weigh in and forfeited. Birden and Bell with first round losses leaving Davino the only one alive in the championship side. Birden needs more offense.

Davino into the semis. Has returning AA, and Ohio product, Dylan Shavyer (Rutgers) up next. Pretty solid litmus test. Birden is making his way back thru the consis.

Davino loses a close one in OT to Shawver 3-2. How many times are you allowed to poke your opponent in the eye until you are penalized?

Looks like Davino lost in OT rideouts on 1 second of riding time.

One thing the Shawver matched showed OSU is that his go to move is the "ROLL". Beware Nic Bouzakis, be ready for it when you wrestle him in the dual!
