Discussion Topic: Big Ten - 157?
Scott Clemmons added to this discussion on February 24, 2025

Apologies if I missed the news. But, I don't think it's been announced who will go 157 for the Bucks at the Big Ten tournament in a couple of weekends.
If it hasn't been announced, I assume it will come this week, right?

It’s cannnon. Sasso didn’t even qualify the weight. As he didn’t have enough matches at 157. Cannon went all those extra tournies to get his allocation for big tens and wrestled all the duals down the stretch. Sasso was supposed to wrestle him off at an open but didn’t end up going.

OK. Yes, that makes sense now that I think about it. Sammy had several matches at 165, and then a drop to 157.
So, my guess is Cannon will have a tough draw at the Big Ten. And thus getting the the NCAA's even tougher. Though I think the B1G got 9 last year.

Cannon will qualify. He is 18-2 and 2-1 in the big ten. He is almost assured a spot at ncaas. His rpi and coaches ranking will be high. Paddy is the one person who will need to steal a spot.

I thought I read somewhere that Willie posted Sammy told the coaches to give the spot to Cannon since its best for the team.

Flo has Cannon ranked 9th overall, but there are 6 Big 10 guys in front of him. Just so happens 157 is loaded with Big 10 guys this year. I like having Cannon in the Big 10 tournament and hopefully the NCAA's more for the experience which should help in the coming years. The kid has some talent. I worry more about 165.

That sounds like something he'd do. Class individual.

Cannon is the best 157 on the team.

Sammy recognizing this and taking himself out of consideration so as to not be a distraction is just another example of him being an all-time teammate, and all-time Buckeye.

Was nice to hear what Cael had to say about Sasso a few weeks ago.

Is Cael taking a shot at star recruit Marcus Blaze’s brother?

Seem to recall Joey Blaze celebrating after beating Sasso in the Purdue dual.

I think he's speaking in generalities. Just my opinion.

Trouble making or not... I think Drew is actually on the money here.

Cael says something like "I probably shouldn't say this..."

That sounds like a reference to the fact that he's criticizing a star recruits brother in doing so.

Then again, it could just be a reference to the fact that he typically would never say anything critical of any athletes in a presser.

This is Sammy's NCAA final with O'Conner. Will someone explain to me how at the end of the match Sammy brings O'Conner down to the mat and has his right leg and his left ankle(which he never loses) and O'Conner is sitting on his butt, but no TD was given? Ryan threw the brick but the no call stood?? Even the announcers were saying "he has it, he has it".
