So, I have been looking and no wrestlers show as registered for the Clarion Open yet. Flo has the coverage. There are a lot of teams listed, so I hope there are a few good matches. Just wanted to get a post started with the season officially starting Saturday!

The number of high schoolers is striking. It used to be a rarity.

I eas making assumptions based on names of teams. Perhaps a mistake to do so?

I think flo said Grey Burnett was registered for 125 and Jax was going to register but was told not to after just wrestling at U23. Would’ve loved to see him vs Davino.

Bouzakis made it to 125? That cut has to be brutal. If he can keep his weight under control he’ll be a monster. I thought he looked big for 133

Kilkeary looks like he has been hitting the weights.

The link in my original post will take you to the flowrestling.org page for the event. I do not like their new format at all, at least not on mobile.

At first the brackets seem to make you only choose one weight at a time, but, when you see the list, you can choose all weights and then you just flip between tabs on the Flo screen. I think it's better than the past. Cleaner. At least on a laptop.

And so far at 125, we have McCrone and Kilkeary after a couple of wins by each, and then Nic v Knox as well in the Quarters.

Based on what I saw today, the best Buckeye wrestler not named Jesse Mendez is Ben Davino. Nice showing by the St Eds duo of Geog and Gallagher. Cannon losing to Miller means little since you don't have to beat Miller during the season. (Miller and Bartlett are beasts--Virginia Tech should be very happy). Bouzakis to 125 shows promise but McCrone beat him in the finals. Good problem to have.

Those of you who don't think the Bucks need Grey Burnett aren't watching the same wrestler I saw today.

Bucks lineup shows a lot of potential but I saw a lot of good...not enough great. Very early in season. I think this team can have an excellent year if they stay healthy. Big if.
