Willie just confirmed that Jax forest will be wrestling next semester. 133 is going to be an absolute gauntlet. Ayala may be the sixth best guy. Davino path to being in the finals just got that much tougher. 184 and 133 are going to be insane come march.

Oklahoma state just got that much tougher. The battle for second place is going to be insane.

I get what you mean but until the matches are wrestled I'm hoping for the Title.

Figs moving didn't pan out. I was disappointed he left AZ St. Win a Natty, don't place and then bolt. Will he find a 3rd school?

Per Pat Mineo on X

As of now, Jax Forrest has no plan or intention of officially competing for Oklahoma State later this season. As many mentioned, it would make zero logistical sense for him to burn his first year of college eligibility in such short & rushed notice. Oklahoma State also has two 133 lbers in Figs & Ramirez (yes, Jax is obviously elite).

This isn’t to say Forrest wouldn’t go out there early to train at RTC and get a head start, but there is no plan for him to use college eligibility later this season.

Magic Man is way smarter than that…

I’m sure eventually someone will reclassify and do this. My money would have been on Bassett. That seems like something he would do. Other sports like gymnastics, maybe tennis, etc have high school aged athletes compete in professional ranks, but I think a variable that people forget is that these kids still need to be college students. Whether or not they are physically ready is one thing. Living independently away from their families and doing school is entirely something else.

Jax Forrest didn’t go to Ironman. Bassetts dad said some of the McCort kids have moved on to college. My guess is Forrest will be in college next semester. 133 is going to be a gauntlet. Bassets dad didn’t even eliminate Bo from going to college this year. There is nothing left for these kids to do in high school. They are ready to compete for NCAA titles now

I feel that a more realistic view would be that there is no upside for him to wrestle at Ironman. If he were to win, that was expected. If he loses, he hurts his value.
I really don't understand why people waste so much time with what "might" happen. Unless you are in the room or know someone personally, not hearsay, just sit back and enjoy the show.

This, more times than not, is my way of doing things.

This is crazy. We may have a kid win an Iron man and an NCAA title in the same year...WTF It is possible

Unless they want to enjoy finishing their high school season, do the senior slide in the spring and generally cherish the end of high school with their friends.

Athletically speaking. What’s beating up on some high schoolers going to do for their collegiant and Olympic dreams. Nothing. They are much older and talented than all of their competition as Bassett and Forrest will be nearly 20 at graduation. Bassett wanted to win a 4th Ironman to be in rare company but move to your rtc and finish the year doing college opens and training with your team. They allow these high school kids to be way too old upon graduation. A lot of 20 year old are in their second and third years of college.

The only reason we don't likely see these kids hit college mid seasxon is because it's a difficult sell to a team that's invested in the guys who've often been in the room for years. A lot of feathers would get ruffled. But it is going to happen sometime given the level of talent we see in guys like Mel Miller, James, Forrest and Bassett.

And it won't be a shock when it does.

This. As good as these guys are, there is more to life than wrestling. Maybe they want to enjoy being in school with friends, take a pretty girl to prom, do a senior prank, or walk at graduation. Maybe they have academic work they need to complete before they are able to graduate.

Well they had senior night for Jax Forrest tonight and no other seniors so it looks like he’s moving on.
