Does anyone know the process for deciding the starter at 125? It appears head-to-head isn't the approach. It feels like flow, and others have opted Buz is the starter. Is this from being told by staff he is the starter, or are they assuming something not based on information from the team?
I love McCrone and think he is a winner. Maybe that is the minority opinion among staff, and Buz droping was their plan not necessarily his? I don't know but it feels like the fix is in and I am not liking it.

Head to head inside a room means very little. They will pick the person they think is best vs. the field. I think that's Buz.

I wonder if the staff is hoping McCrone will pull a "Lilledahl" upset over Robinson? I prefer Bouzakis, but we'll see. It looks like there will be some very interesting match ups in this dual.

Bouzakis is a different guy to wrestle, a little funky, and I'm wondering if they feel that wrestling him the first time is an advantage for them.

In terms of recruitment, McCrone has overperformed while Bouzakis has not yet shown the consistency one would like to see out of a high level recruit. Nevertheless, McCrone, a scrappy overachiever, has stylistic limitations. Bpuzakis, especially due to his performance at national duals, appears to have more upside at the weight.

I love McCrone because he's giving max effort but everyone knows if you finish quick on your leg attacks, he's a "dead duck". Bouzakis has probably not been as consistent as McCrone--and certainly more disappointing--but he's got the juice to put together a big run at the weight (assuming he's in good health).

That's the way I see it anyway. I suspect the staff does as well. Still lots of season to go and minds can change for a variety of reasons.

I just watched on YouTube a match between Singleton and Menke from Nortern Colorado. It was the chippiest match I have seen in a long time. Singleton is a bit of a brawler with deep underhooks and a fair amount of pushing.(I wonder which NC State wrestler he learned that from. LOL)

Yeah that was atrocious—especially after not calling his opponent for stalling or fleeing the match earlier

A couple of thoughts. I like the move to wrestle McCrone against Robinson. The outcome of the dual didn’t hinge on that match. It’s not a great matchup for Brandon, but if Bousakis ends up being the guy now you don’t have a H2H loss against someone you will not see in your league matches. I think Nic is a much better matchup, but Robinson is pretty dang good.
The E-looted experience is going to be a roller coaster. That dude is different. He’s not going to blow anyone great’s doors off, but he is gritty, which I like. I can see how he gets wins on the back side of the NCAA tournament when everyone else tightens up. He’s probably a nightmare to coach, we’ve all had kids like that. Between the post match sword sheathing and walking back thru the tunnel after matches. He clearly marches to his own beat. Should be entertaining, he’s very opposite of the type of guy OSU normally has on the roster.
Isaac Trumble is a problem. Full stop.
