Yes, Congratulations to Reece!.......but since the hijacking has already occured, I would hessitate in moving J up from a weight he was so succesful at (National Champion), and since the idea of a redshirt for Lance was suggested, what about Jason Johnstone dropping to 149 if he can get there and opening that 157 slot for Nemec so niether of them lose a year of eligibility.

Let's be honest here... Tom Ryan will put the best wrestler on the mat.
Palmer isn't going to redshirt unless he gets injured.
J Jaggers = Two-time NCAA Champion - I believe!!!

The fact that we can sit around and come up with these different line-ups, without sacrificing quality at almost any weight is what makes this season, and the future at OSU with Ryan so exciting.
The inevitable injuries, etc. will occur, and Ryan will be able to adjust his lineup accordingly, unlike previous years, when losing someone at a certain weight meant an almost sure loss of team points because we had no one comparable as a sub.
GO Bucks...oh yeah, congrats Reece! <cool>

Are you saying that Colt has a real chance at AAing or winning it all? Marable and Lewnes are beasts, Marable took Perry to the brink in the semis this year. I would expect Colt to AA, but to expect him to win it all is a tall order. He is capable, though.

Lewnes and Marable are beasts, but so is Sponseller. Sometimes you just know a wrestler has the potential to do great things, even if he hasn't yet record-wise. IMO, that is the case with Sponseller.
Hank:
You know that some wrestlers go to the NCAA tournament for the first time and win (or come very close to it). I don't quite understand your comment.
Let's take Matt Gentry from Stanford...
He was an All-American only once in his career and that is when he won in a star-studded field including 2x champ and 4x AA Ryan Bertin from Michigan via St. Edward, 4x AA Jake Percival from Ohio University via Amherst, and 4x AA Alex Tirapelle from Illinois.
Ben Cherrington from Boise State was a one-time All-American and he went undefeated.
Ryan Fulsaas from Iowa nearly won the NCAA tournament and he barely went over .500 his senior year, let alone any others.
Franklin Gomez was the #1 seed this year at 133 pounds at the NCAA tournament and finished in third place. This was his first time at the NCAA tournament (he was knocked out at Big 10s by Ohio State's Will Livingston last year).
Colt Sponseller has insane potential. I think he'll do VERY well at the NCAA Tournament this year.

Elliot, I like that buckeye sight. Especially the quotes from Jim Humphrey. Can you have a guy with more wrestling experience in your corner than Jim? I like the Triggas article when Nikko says “My second freestyle match I am losing 5-0 first period; the guy is getting in on my legs and turned me in a front head or something. I come off the mat not even breathing that hard and coach Hump held me down and asked me what I thought I was doing out there? I said coach I don’t know. He told me alright here is what you are going to do; fake a shot, snap him down, get behind him, and you will pin him with that arm. I went out there faked a couple of shots, snapped him down, turned him with a bar and ended it in the second period." I love it <smiling>
