Down the road, OSU has got to get Taylor & Phillips. Ryan made the statement when he first got the job about keeping the top Ohio wrestlers in Ohio. These are the kind of blue chip kids we need to build a national powerhouse.

I whole heartedly agree with you on that and I'm sure Tom Ryan and tOSU crew already have these guys marked down on their lists when the time comes to recruit. These are Ohio blue chippers and Ohio State, and every other Ohio college program should be clawing to get these guys, it's one thing I get down about when I see Ohio talent being utilized well by out of state programs. But in order to pick up these guys Ohio programs need to keep up the pressure and follow Lou Rosselli's keys to getting recruits, W-I-N. Ohio State certainly did well by taking 3rd place in LV and an improved placing at Big 10's and NCAA Championship and it's my hope they're able to nab our top juniors this upcoming year. Did anyone catch which coaches were in attendance?

Another fact from this past weekend, overshadowed by the incredible performance from Phillips is that David Taylor joined the elite group of three time Ironman Champions and can potentially become the first 4xer next year. I already, can't wait till next years Ironman.

As ridiculous as it would be to bring in all of them, I see Taylor, the Stiebers, Phillips, and Collin Palmer as guys that, each on an individual basis, Ohio State must not let slip away. To bring in all five would be, well, jawdropping.

Darn straight! Tom Ryan is no fool though, I'm sure the program is pursuing the current juniors and keeping their eyes on the future talent. After all David Taylor admitted that Ohio State is one of his top 3 and I'm sure Lance can help persuade his brother to suit up with the Scarlet and Gray.

Looks like Massillon Perry is going to be runner-up again this year to Ed's with that 3-some of White, Genetin and Horner. If they can Hillock in there that is some more points they can score at the state lineup.

And let's remember that St. PG is a public school. Bob, maybe you can remind us when -- and who -- the last public school national number one was. Northhampton?

Roe Fox,
yes Bald Eagle Area PA 1999 was the last public school mythical national champion, before that Northampton PA in 1992 and 1993. Doesnt happen often, but its good for wrestling when it does.

but st Paris while # 1 right now, is not yet national champion.
