Discussion Topic: Time Warner Question
Roe Fox added to this discussion on February 18, 2008

Jeff: Thanks.

Cliff: Over the last couple of years if I was surfing I would occassionally see a tournament or dual. Last year (well, winter of 2006-2007), although the video wasn't too good, I saw a great match between Claymont and Lake. Recently the ABJ has been listing in its Sports on TV section that the Dies was going to be on. It wasn't, hence my inquiry.

The Dies Family works real hard to get Time Warner out to their tournament. If it was up to Time Warner, I doubt they would be there. I have volunteered my time the last 3 years to broadcast the tourney. I haven't heard of Time Warner doing any other wrestling in the NEO/Akron area. I know that the Dies Family pitches the idea to Time Warner by stressing how many districts in the Akron area participate in the tourney. I know the times got screwed up, but they will replay the tournament many times throughout the next few months, as they did last year.

Matt,
If you would like me to air next year's tournament finals here at Cable 9, just get ahold of me and we would gladly add it to our coverage. That way, all residents of Summit County could see your efforts.
