Dan C. - Congrats. Looks like your guy cruised to the title. 7-0 in the finals is a whoopin'.

any thoughts on 125? I also expected Opfer to be wrestling Pope, but was happy for him to be wrestling Sergeant...until they actually wrestled.

they've wrestled six times, correct? and the only times Troy has lost is last weekend and last year in the finals? I know Troy personally and seeing him lose was devastating. But as a true non-biased fan, I must say Nice Job Ben.

I thought that 125 was a great match. I had thought that Troy could have pulled it out against Sergent, but there is a reason why he's a 2x state champ. I also thought that the semi final of 152 where it was Jedd Moore vs. Jared Kusar should have been the finals match, but I guess thats how the pairings worked.... <thumbsdown>

How about Heasley finally getting the edge on Wilson in the semi-final at 160. My count has that at about 7-1 in favor of Wilson, but Heasley got it done this season when it matter most, then finished strong with the win over Yant for the title.

Have any of the Monroeville 4 verballed anywhere? I know Colln Palmer said YES to tOSU as a Sophomore...

I would LOVE for Tom Ryan to get his hands on a couple of those boys!

Was Collin verballing ever made official? I know that was said by this website after information from a reliable source, but turned out to be premature.

I don't know if the verbal was ever confirmed. However I think we all know we will end up seeing Palmer at Ohio State with his brother and making that lineup even stronger.

The key now is to land Taylor with Palmer. Taylor will be heavily recruited by Ohio State, Penn State and Iowa State. Cael Sanderson was there at the state tournament last weekend most notabily to look at Taylor. Imagine getting the best two wrestlers in the nation next year at Ohio State in Taylor and Palmer.
