"agree on D'Emilio, should start. Ech not ready yet, cant win in big ten or NCAA if poor on bottom. i know Tom Brands wanted D'Emilio, gave him a good offer, give him a chance .
tough season with no tourn, too few matches and season too short to develop guys-- has Covid played a part?
but Rocky, Singletery, Hoffman, Cleary, and Decatur. They need to step up soon. Two and 3 years ago ohio st had a #1 and 2 ranked class-- of course Kirkvliet part of it but now he and Kinner apparently gone. Others slow to develop.
Rocky looks bad vs Brands, one tkdwn attempt, then nothing in 3rd period. But then beats Lyons so maybe there is hope. ... Singletary disappointing coming down from 285, not showing skills he had at Blair. Doesnt even look very strong. Decatur-- looks like a wasted year as of today. ... Some very high ranked recruiting classes did not pan out so far."

Good synopsis Bob. I think with Singletary he's just too big for 197 and too small for 285. Why we can't have a 225 in college rather than 197 is a mystery.
Hoffman looks better at 197 than he did at 184. He's not ready to AA but he's a tough out. Find him some offense and he'll be good.
Rocky has to become better in situations where he commonly finds himself in matches. Against Lyons, he finished his shots easily. Against lesser opponents, he didn't.
Decatur may be a tweener as well but there are too many gaps in his game. He looked like he would dominate Purdue but ended up barely winning.
Cleary is serviceable but in hindsight the Bucks should have recruited Bryce Andonian.

kerkvliet & kinner gone from top classes, and i didnt mention the bad luck of losing Karchla. its been a black cloud over the Buckeyes in last couple seasons when Plecher & Moore situation added in..
Breaking News
AmWrNews communicated with Matt Holmes from NCAA. interesting twist for seeding/qualifying because of Covid. If a wrestler does not compete in his conference tournament, he can still qualify for NCAAs, as long as no other wrestler on his team competes at conference tournament at that weight. So... you may see guys at NCAAs where Round 1 is their first bout of the season. Odd stuff.
seeding, seeding, seeding-- trophies at stake, coaches will be very angry, they don't take this stuff lightly
Penn st just pulled out of hosting olympic trials, can USAWR find another site ??
