I set the league up. It is called DotNet and the password is GoBucks!

We need to pick a draft date and time. I put it for next Sunday, the 31st, at 7:00 P.M. but that can be changed. It is set for a 10 team league, but I'll change that if we don't get more interested people.

It is set for 3 minutes per pick, but we can lower that so if someone autodrafts it will go quicker.

Let me know if you have any problems, I can send an invite if needed.

Thanks!

If you need someone to fill out the league I would but don't want to bump out someone who really would like to join

Mike, so far only 8 are in, so you would be 9. Not bumping anyone to my knowledge.

I will throw my hat in the ring, but will step aside if forum members with more capability and dotnet seniority want to do it.

I have never done a fantasy league of any type, so I will need to get up to speed on how it works.

Bruce, you're in. Go to wrestlestat.com and sign up. Registration for the site is free.

Click on the fantasy wrestling section and join a league. There is a $4.00 fee for the league. The league name is DotNet and the password is GoBucks!

We'll have a draft online this weekend, as it looks like the first matches start on Monday the 1st.

I registered my team name of Bill's Ultimate Warriors.

Years ago the draft process took multiple days. Even with todays 3 minute per draft, the draft could last (10 teams x 16 wrestlers/team x 3 minutes) 480 minutes or 8 hours. My recommendation would be to start the draft on Friday or Saturday, not 7am of Browns/Steelers Sunday.

With todays smartphones things may run smoother. Only a handful of participants even were texting back then.

OK, I am registered and have joined the league. I read the online instructions but I need some more hand holding:
1. When the draft occurs, are all 10 league participants supposed to be online and logged into wrestlestat's fantasy league page?
2. Is there some sort of prompt that occurs that indicates that I am supposed to make my draft choice when its my turn?
3. Is the list of wrestlers that we pick from a limited list that wrestlestat creates or does it include every D1 wrestler at all schools that have D1 wrestling?
4. Does the draft go weight by weight or will someone pick a 165 pounder and then the next person in the league might pick a 197 pounder?

Draft:

I'm fine starting the draft whenever. We can also reduce the amount of time from 3 minutes to 1 minutes. I wish there was a way to just start it and leave it open without autopicking, but I don't see that option.

I believe everyone should be logged on and ready to draft. I've never drafted through Wrestlestat, but I assume there will be some sort of prompt.

Again, I've never drafted using Wrestlestat, but I know they have a list of rankings (top 300 on the site).

You can draft any weight at any time.

I think that answers all of the questions. Thanks!

So, we've only got 8 so far. I say we set the draft and if the others get signed up then great, but if not, then we go with less.

I think we set the picks at 1 minute, which gets it done quicker. If we start Sunday night at 7:30, I think we'll be done by 10.

Thoughts?

I've never done fantasy anything. How does it work? I'll get signed up but what do I need to do as far as prep goes?

Prep is as much as you want, or none at all. Wrestlestat has a top 300 list on their site, so personally, I'll just have that opened and draft from it. You can absolutely research wrestle off results and what true frosh (who usually aren't ranked) will wrestle, but to me, this is just for fun and makes the season a little more interesting.

One other option is a draft one night next week. There is one match on Monday, but nothing else until Saturday, so we could always just miss the first match.
