While Ethan never had gas tank issues it always looked like his cut was substantial.

It wasn't just Kaleb. It was numerous guys dealing with injuries that nobody ever talked about.
College wrestling is very hard. D1 wrestling is brutal. B1G wrestling ratchets that brutality up a few levels. If we see a drop off in performance, a solid bet is that there is an injury being dealt with.
It is the rare dude that gets through a season without some injury -- and a reason why I believe having days of active recovery built into a practice schedule during a season is vital to their bodies (and minds) being fresh.
Killian Cardenale put out a tweet that said "So you wanna be a Division 1 wrestler huh?" and it showed the process he went through pre-match getting feet, ribs, shoulder, face and knee ready to just compete.
