It was numerous guys dealing with injuries that nobody ever talked about. College wrestling is very hard. D1 wrestling is brutal. B1G wrestling ratchets that brutality up a few levels. If we see a drop off in performance, a solid bet is that there is an injury being dealt with. It is the rare dude that gets through a season without some injury -- and a reason why I believe having days of active recovery built into a practice schedule during a season is vital to their bodies (and minds) being fresh. Killian Cardenale put out a tweet that said "So you wanna be a Division 1 wrestler huh?" and it showed the process he went through pre-match getting feet, ribs, shoulder, face and knee ready to just compete.
