I met Paddy just prior to Christmas and he looked fantastic. Solid as a rock. Must have happened in practice. Such a shame. In spite of the Shapiro match, he seemed to have jumped a level this year and was in the midst of a good season. Wins over Chumbley and Chittum among others. This is sad news indeed.

Tom Ryan told Flo the injury occurred early in the Shapiro match. He said Paddy will be out for a while. He didn’t say if it will be for the rest of the season.
Just a week ago we speculated Wilcox would move up to 174 to replace Kharchla. Instead he moves down to 157 to replace Gallagher.
Seasons never go as planned.

Lots of bonus up and down the lineup. Dylan looked like he was lacking that extra fear tonight. He was half a step slower than normal. Taking nothing away from Webster, as he is a talent, but Dylan is better than that. Rocco lost to a veteran in a match that was never really in reach. I don’t think he touched Ruth’s legs. Rocco will be a totally different wrestler in two months, but he’s likely to take several loses during the process. Solid start to the Big Ten dual season

I thought Rocco wrestled a good match against a tough guy, Yeah I wish he had attacked a little more in the first period and I think if he cuts loose he beats him next time.
I thought it showed some thing that Ruth wrestled such a tight match, never coming close to an attack of his own for a TD.

I was wondering the same thing about Ruth, all he did on his feet was block. Was the plan all along to win with riding time? Or is he strictly a counter wrestler? Wish it had gone into OT.

Ruth is a small 174 but a superb athlete with power, quickness and great hips. Rocco was never close to a score. I think Ruth was conservative because he's undersized although that's just a guess.
While I thought the team wrestled well as a whole, I was particularly enthused with McCrone and Hepner. McCrone continues to display a knack for pinning and has really developed given the fact he was not a "blue chip" recruit. Hepner has sometimes seemed like a mythological figure in that we heard about him but rarely saw him. Now we're getting a longer look and he has impressed.
Bucks coaches seem to be doing a better job at developing talent now than in the past.
