I love posts this time of year. Hate where hate isn't justified and the same with the love fests. I get the impression Nick was posting after a scotch or three. Good stuff!

Bouzakis is fine. I’d be concerned if he wasn’t scoring points. Offense is not his problem. For whatever reason he can’t focus for an entire seven minutes and surrenders easy scores. Is it conditioning? Nerves? Weight cut? His instincts when ahead aren’t great.
Same was true of a young Reece Humphrey. He got it corrected.
Calling my shot: Nic is standing on the podium next Saturday.

Bouzakis can beat almost anyone at the weight, his lack of consistency and willingness to let people in on his legs at will late in matches (even in his win against Nagao this was true in the third period) makes me question if he can put an AA run together at the national tournament. NCAAs requires you to be on at all times. He could certainly get it done, but i wouldn't be surprised to see him miss the podium. He'll be fine going forward, he's just a little too inconsistent for me at this point to comfortably make an AA prediction.

McCrone and Bouzakis secure at-large bids. Hepner snubbed. Too few matches and a bad conference tournament were too much for him to overcome.

Looking at who got them, I can't disagree. Fields (NC State/Brunswick), Fish (Michigan State), Heller (Pitt), Mulvaney (Bucknell), and Thompson (OU) all have better wins overall. Fields, Heller, and Mulvaney all have wins over Wilcox, fwiw.
