Both committed to Iowa.
One of them could be buried on the depth chart with Arnold and Ferrari.

If I'm reading those times correctly, they started calling him just after midnight?!? I was by no means a sought after recruit, but even if I was I don't think I would have been up that late. In my high school and college days I was always in bed by 10 or 11 - because I was busy studying and training! As a coach now there are days where I'm up really late working on emails, registrations, watching film, etc., but I wouldn't call an athlete after midnight unless it was a true emergency.
I get it that the hype is exciting for all parties involved, but that is crazy.

If money wasn’t an issue I think that Bassett would be a buckeye. However I think it’s going to be the highest bidder to get him. He announced he hired an agency already and I’m sure is going to get a ridiculous offer from someone. Tom Ryan has been building a relationship with him for years but I don’t think that is going to be enough. Oklahoma state, Penn state, Iowa, and Oklahoma state seem to be in the running as of now. He made notes on those schools so that is probably telling that those are his favorites but he claims everyone has a chance which we know isn’t true.

Bucks hosted PA’s Adam Waters (175) and Blair’s Tyler Dekraken (132) over the weekend.
Add those two to previous visitors Jax Forrest, Dom Munaretto, Michael Mocco, Rylan Seacrist, Dreshaun Ross, Liston Seibert, and Garrison Weisner.
Did I miss any?
Bo Bassett will visit soon. As for the Raney brothers, I haven’t heard much.
Top to bottom, the 2026 class is just okay. But the top guys are very good, and the Bucks are in on many of them. What’s unclear is where the Bucks stand. HS prospects can now take unlimited visits. So, them showing up to campus for a weekend doesn’t show the level of interest it once did. Some of these guys are at a different school every week. Can’t blame them. It’s a lot of fun and they get to train for a couple of days in a college room.
Of those who’ve visited Ohio State, only Seibert is off the board. He committed to Maryland.
Bucks need a strong class regardless if Marcus Blaze ends up signing with them or not.

Can tOSU have a “strong class” without Blaze in it?
Honest question…Is it necessary for the flagship university of a state like Ohio to land its most highly touted recruit in a decade or more? Is keeping him at tOSU what “building a fence around Ohio” means or is that stuff just what coaches say when they get hired? Does keeping Ohio recruits in Ohio even mean anything when your program is looking at the best guys nationally to fill all their needs?
Penn State lost Spencer Lee to Iowa and it didn’t seem to hurt them that much. Although it certainly hurt them at 125 pounds. But that team is winning titles every year, not trying to get back to the top.
So Buckeye fans, how important is it for Blaze to choose tOSU?

Michael, we’re talking about two different classes. Blaze is 2025. The other guys are 2026.
And, yes, the Bucks can absorb Blaze going elsewhere. But it would take a very good 2026 class.
This is a big moment for the program’s future.

Went elsewhere…

Paddy
Jagger
Palmers
Kharchla
Romero
Tomasello
Bojo
Stayed home…
I’m sure I’m forgetting some high/elite ranked guys from previous TR era years.
I would say anytime you lose a generational talent it stings, but the Bucks have demonstrated an ability to land most of the top guys and gain quality results out of
Most. I’m sure there were some titles left on the table from that bottom
Group due to injury or other factors. Losing Blaze would not be detrimental but would be a hard pill to swallow.

Rylan Seacrist picks Arizona State. He was being recruited by all of the big schools. Good pickup for Zeke Jones.
