Someone on Bucknuts said looked like a hammy 15 seconds into the match

Nice to see Sammy again. Was concerned he’d look chunky at 165. He does not. Good weight for him as he continues to bounce back.
Luke Geog is gonna win some big matches this year. He’s getting better.
Davino and Welsh are redshirting, per the broadcast.

Bucks looked tough against a better than expected UTC squad. That team had some talent.
Interesting to watch Sasso. He did all his crazy, funky things and they worked but not quite as well due to the length of his opponent.
But overall he looked pretty damn good for a guy who survived a point blank gun shot that left him near dead and partially paralyzed.

For me it was difficult to judge his performance because in the past his first few matches of the season were not his best for whatever reason. I also thought maybe jumping two weights may have put him at a disadvantage strength wise, as most of these guys are dropping down from 175-180 lbs. I wondered if maybe moving Paddy up and having Sammy go down to 157 might work??

I watched in person and without knowing anything about the Mocs I thought the bucks looked a little off. McCrone has it on the mat, but he’s still limited offensively which will put him in a tough spot against top tier opponents. I think that’s the difference between him and Vinny. Kilkeary can go get points if needed. Bousakis was unimpressive, struggling with energy issues early in the season as he adapts to making weight again. D’Emilio looks bigger and looked good. Not sure what you say about Paddy’s match other than he dug deep to get it done. Let’s hope he can stay healthy. Great to see Sammy back on the mat. I’ll say this, whatever adjustments he’s having to stylistically make to account for his physical limitations, I think he’s muck it up style actually probably translates better and gives him a chance to still be competitive.
174/184 I’m unclear what the plan is. I get that Karchla is going to give it one more go, but with his track record with durability that is well established going back to high school I’m wondering if this is the best course. Can Welsh make 174 at all? If he can I’d be surprised if he doesn’t renter the line up at some point. I just don’t see a scenario where Carson can physically hold up all season. Rygotske is an absolute roller coaster. While exciting I have to imagine that his coaches have pulled whatever remaining hair they have out.
Jury remains out on Geog. He has not established any real signature wins in his short career. This season is the proving ground.
