I think the last paragraph sums it up nicely. TR has been on the mat some but I see that going down even more post accident. He is a dynamic and enthusiastic speaker. He is also generally a great recruiter.
I also like the comments about J. Maybe he just likes being a Buckeye and coaching and doesn’t want the administrative duties of an HC. Maybe like the Hartline situation. Everyone assumes he will be an HC somewhere but he seems awfully happy being the best WR coach at his alma mater. Hartline’s involvement with HC opportunities elsewhere have always seemed lukewarm efforts, at best.
I don’t see Hartline going anywhere soon. He has it made and has earned it.
Finding the sweet spot in life for your family, job, career, etc. is an undervalued talent many people don’t have.
Of course, the salary of a football AC is far more than wrestling. Living in Ohio helps because the standard of living is reasonable.

Why doesn’t jaggers become a head coach somewhere else because he will not make near the money. He is currently making 142,142.86 a year. There is absolute zero jobs he would get that he would be able to get that would make more money. That is more than most head coaches in division one.

The teams that pay more than his salary would not go after someone like J. When a big time program job becomes open schools will go after Dake, Burroughs, Snyder. Not a guy like Jaggers with zero freestyle credentials imo. Sure he could be head coach of a mid major program but it would be a reduced salary and not as much job security. He just isn’t a high profile enough coach that would land a top tier job.
Also how often do head coaching jobs become open at these type of programs? Very rarely. By the time Tom Ryan retires we may be interviewing Marcus Blaze or Bo Bassett as the next head coach. These recruits want to wrestle for their idols that they grew up watching like David Taylor. These high schoolers were barely born when Jaggers was winning his NCAA championship. Maybe Ohio state can promise Bassett a future coaching position to lure him in lol.

I always wanted to see Jaggers take over at Cleve State/Kent/OU but the only way it would make sense for him is if some wealthy benefactor would pour money into the program so he could properly recruit and pay staff. I'd be that guy if more of you would buy briskets.
Still ticked that Marcus Blaze passed up a Wagyu Brisket to head to PSU.
