Dan Gable losing to Larry Owings, his only loss as a college wrestler. Steveson quit shooting the last period figuring he could just play defense, a fatal mistake on his part.

His defensive technique broke down also. I still think Gable beats him 98 / 100 times -- but this was that 2%. Congrats to Wyatt and hope this fires Gable up to go get 2 more world golds then an Olympic Gold also.

Beating an Olympic Champion is bigger for me. He didn't give up a takedown all year until the finals. David Taylor will do some special things over there. What a game plan. Taking Gable to deep waters and trusting your conditioning and positioning.

That's fair -- we just disagree.
Watch the final sequence. Gable's basic defense breaks down. My JH wrestler asked, why didn't he stuff his head like your supposed.
It was at this moment I thought -- they do listen. :)

EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING!!!!!
I will show our youth that last sequence and ask what Steveson did wrong. Literally no pressure on the head.
Also worth noting. Dan Gable and his namesake, Gable Dan Steveson, both lost their final college matches. Crazy.
