Case has a nice history.

Isaac Dukes, 3x AA, 1x Champ
Zak Kallai, 4x AA
Chris Nader 2xAA
Scott Miller 2x AA
Derek Messmer, 1xChamp

It comes down to Isaac Dukes or Chris Ricklic in my opinion. Zak Kallai gets the honorable mention.

"for OU I would select either Harry Houska or Bruce Trammel. Can you tell I"m a Parma kid"

Credentials for each. For example, Jake Percival was a 4x AA. He'd probably be the third guy to consider."

Harry Houska was a Pan-American Games gold medalist in 1967. NCAA 191-pound champion in 1964 and runner-up at 177 pounds in 1963 at Ohio University where he won three Mid-American Conference championships compiled a career record of 76-3 and was named the University’s Athlete-of-the-Decade, 1960-70. Was Ohio high school champion at Parma High in 1954. As head wrestling coach at Ohio he guided team to seven consecutive conference championships.
Bruce Trammel was a two-time All-American wrestler. He was an NCAA runner-up at 158 pounds in 1970 and was third the following year. He captained his team to two MAC titles in 1970 and in 1971. He held seven season and career wrestling records in his time frame. He had 15 wins in a season, a dual career record of 36-0."

Out of curiosity, why the gap for HH between Parma (1954) and OU (1963)? Military service?"

old man typo. should have read high school champ AT 154. he did it in 1960

Baldwin Wallace College:
Michael Petrella, 3x NCAA Champion
Jacob Decatur, 1x Champion, 3x AA
Jaden Hinton, 3xAA
Several multiple AA's as well.

Petrella, who won NCAA's in 2023-2025, is the obvious choice for BW's Mt Rushmore of wrestling.

Heidelberg:

Joe Pflug (152-4 at Maple Heights and 2x state champ, 4x state finalist) National Champ and AA

Jason Miller, Matt Randolph, Tom Jackson and Dylan Roth were all 2x AA's. Miller was head coach at Heidelberg for several years and made the program a powerhouse.

Strictly from a wrestling perspective, Pflug, the only champ in program history, gets the nod.

Pflug was fantastic. Would have been interesting to see him at D1.

I officiated Joe a few times and it was always entertaining. He never went outside the circle, you were going to have to come to him and wrestle. The only issue was that he was so much better than just about anyone he wrestled that I was worried that he would do something that would cost him a match.
Offhand I would be hard pressed to think of someone who made my job easier, he was that good.

OSU is Logie Bear. Kent is Kilgore. Those two are easy.

Kyle Snyder--3x Champ, 4xFinalist, Olympic Gold Medalist, several more world medals

Logan Stieber--4x Champ, 1x World Champion

When push comes to shove, Snyder is the choice.

"Kyle Snyder vs Logie Bear is not easy. Not at all."

If you only consider when they wore the tOSU singlet, then I think you have to go Logan.

If you consider they 4 or 5 years they were on campus (including FS season), then you go Snyder.

Also, If Logan competes without a redshirt -- does he win 4? If Kyle takes a redshirt, does he win 4?

Hank, you're right, it's not easy at all.

For ME, If I could have one of their resume's from only the years they were on campus, I'd take Kyle's - From 2015 to 2018, he was a: 4x Finalist, 3x Champ. 3x World Finalist, 2x Champ, & Olympic Gold. Dang near as good as it can possible get.

Agree that Kilgore is the choice for Kent but one of the things I want do is spur discussion on non Ohio State programs. Hard to ignore how good Ian Miller was. 3xAA.

If the ref's didn't screw up (and the challenge process wasn't flawed), he very well could have been an NCAA champ -- and then the discussion between him and Kilgore is REALLY interesting.

Ohio Northern has to be Kyle Kwait. 2x DIII NCAA champ if memory serves right.

When I see “collegiate competitors” i assume it means collegiate (NCAA folkstyle) wrestling. In that, Logan is an easy choice.

Even at that, I still don't think it's easy.

Logan still had more losses -- and that's not even considering that he took a RS and Kyle didn't.

That said, I think Logan is the choice in a squeaker.
