Nice late January road dual win against a tough opponent.

What ever happened to Chris Cannon? He used to be a handfight monster who was a tough out for anyone. Last night he looked like he'd drawn the short straw and wanted to be anywhere but on the mat.

7 years of college wrestling will do that to you.

The three losses were all by a takedown or less.
Got me thinking: how many uncompetitive matches has a starter lost this season? Feels like it’s in the single digits.

I'm also worried a bit about Brandon Cannon tweaking his knee. Gutted it out and still got the W against a tough kid but we need him healthy for the stretch run. 165 and 197 are really tough calls. It seems like Paddy has good offensive attacks when he attempts them but is just really gun shy. He doesn't always finish but I feel like if he increased his rate/volume of attacks he would be more successful. I think Shumate and Geog are both hot and cold depending on the weekend. Regarding Fishback, as good as McNelly is he did nothing on his feet all of regulation and IMO should have been hit for stalling earlier. Fishback was in on numerous nice attacks and just needs to finish quicker.

Ohio state has four losses total by starters that were more than a takedown

Ethan stiles by pin to Jaxon joy
Ethan stiles10-4 tyus
This was first tournament of year and probably attributed to big weight cut.

Geog 7-0 Novak
Geog 9-0 Elam.

I believe that’s all

125 we have the best third string wrestler in the country. I see Kilkeary and Mccrone leaving next season. Bouzakis does not want to go 133. If he can make it this year he can make it next year. Then we bring in Mills and munaretto. With roster limitations no way we can keep that many 125 pounders anyway. If Bouzakis moves up then Mills is probably the starter.

197 I’m back to the geog bandwagon after that match. Neither guy has beaten anyone in top ten but Geog almost had Rudemacher.

165 I try to be optimistic about Paddy but it might be time for Birden.

Stiles has look to improve as the season has went on.

Cannon is worrisome but we may need to wrestle him against Nebraska to win the dual.

Carson looked great. This version of Carson may be an NCAA finalist

Fishback needs to just get through overtime against these top guys. He just needs to survive to ride outs and he has a chance. Four losses all in overtime.

Nebraska lost six of ten matches to Iowa. Now they have a rematch with an Ohio State team that they were absolutely boat raced by earlier in the season. Only two ways to go here, either the ugliness continues or it doesn’t.
Curious if we see Bousakis here. With Vinny’s win and Nic supposedly sick you might see Kilkeary again. In his post match interview Ryan suggested that Brandon had been dealing with a knee injury. To me that suggests some sort of nagging injury that may not heal with rest. Maybe small cartridge tear or something, I dunno. Either way it sounds like he will have to work around it

It's the dog days of the season. Iowa and Nebraska did not look sharp. Neither did Minny. Bucks were solid by comparison.

We'll see which team has a little more gas in the tank.

Bucks not at their sharpest today but starting 3 looked great and Stiles pulled one out. Then Feldman got in done to give the Bucks an exciting 17 - 16 dub.

Mendez has leveled up!!

I've really grown to dislike Mark Manning and Nebraska. Their fans think they are Iowa lol.

I was kind of an Antrell Taylor fan before today but he was being a huge dick after the inadvertent eye poke by Shaw. Love that the bucks gutted it out after some tough losses in the second half of their lineup. Feldman is becoming one of my favorite Buckeyes. I feel like he really steps it up in duals when his team depends on him. I think about his win against Davison to beat Michigan in the dual 2 years ago.

It's a road dual, second in three days, against a very good Nebraska squad. Making wt...again. Traveling...Hostile crowd. Lots of fatigue from a team that normally doesn't look tired. The Bucks are human. I get it.

But there are two things that drove me nuts. First, you have to be able to ride well enough to take 20-30 seconds off the clock. Geog gets a nice reversal and McDaniel is flat on his belly for several seconds. Don't just lay on top and wait for him to work up. Finish the first period with a one point lead.

Same thing goes for the 30 second ride out in double OT. Every wrestler in the lineup has to have a plan for that situaion. Top should be an advantage if all you have to do is take 30 seconds off the clock. For the love of G-d and winning blood round type matches, would the Bucks coaching staff please devote some significant practice time to this situation?

Secondly, Fishbach and Kharchla have to work on finishing quicker against good counter wrestlers. Easier said than done. But Penn State is really good at it. So it's doable.

Great effort by Feldman. One of the best matches he's ever wrestled as a Buckeye.

Bottom line is tOSU won. Kudos to the team for remaining unbeaten. Excellent job.

Glad they held Cannon out if he is banged up. Why did TR put Birden in against a ranked guy Paddy beat earlier this year? I thought Fishback had the winning TD in OT but they did not call it. At least Geog seems to be in better shape in the 3rd period than he has been in the past, thought he was gonna get that double to win but McDaniel squirmed out of it. But I agree with Hank, some of the guys have got to get better on top.

Manning is nuts. A bit classless when fans boo'd fishback injury.

Great win for Bucks! Feldman!

A.J. should be called for stalling and his head taps are borderline jabs. Hes a donkey.
