"The Bucks sign a small class on NLI day. Andres Gonzales and Paddy Gallagher are official. No seniors, outside of potentially Traub, are slotted for positions in the lineup. With no real money coming off the books and major cash crunches at Ohio State and other institutions, I’m not surprised at the smaller class size. Landing the best guy in your state is always a must, and Gonzales is a top ranked light weight, but I agree with the sentiment that he’s not someone that could fill in immediately. Unless he gets huge, which may be possible, Gonzales is still a couple of years away. Depth wise you just landed crucial need weights in 125 and 165, potentially.
Shumate (184/197) and the Legacy Christian kid (157) are next years crop. Where do you look next? Heavy? 133?"

I believe the Bucks need to put a heavy emphasis on 125/133 for next season. Some names that come to mind would be 120# Joey Cruz out of Cali, 126# Zeke Seltzer from Indiana, and then obvious #1 Bouzakis out of PA.
Filling in the middle and upper weights with high caliber recruits is always a plus, but I just think the focus needs to be 125-133.
OSU already got Ohio's number 1 junior, looks like Geog is the only top-tier guy from in-state the Bucks should be going after. HE looks to be set for 174.

125 is so hard to recruit as mentioned. I researched the Gonzalez kid and he looks like a tough lower weight with potential to develop. In addition Heinselman and the smaller Decatur could continue to grow technically and physically. Maybe one of them makes a jump? I agree the Bucks and everyone else should be all in on Bouzakis. Nobody is a sure thing but blue chip middle weights out of PA are pretty dang close. This kid takes all comers and finds a way to get it done. Maybe he comes to Columbus to train with Echemendia and fellow PA boy Sasso (under the tutelage of J and Logan). Come one Coach Ralph, get this done!

With yet another extension of the dead period, and the continued financial and social collateral effects of the pandemic on recruiting, I find it curious as to why we see schools like Okie State, NC State, Virginia Tech, and others continue to haul in recruits. Yet we’ve seen very little, if any, activity out of tOSU, Penn State, and a few others in the Big Ten. I would say I’ve seen maybe one commitment for Iowa, one for Michigan, and I can’t think of many others. Any insights or rationales into why this might be? Could ADs be clamping down on allow commits right now? I’m just not connecting the dots as to why some are moving forward with business as usual and other like the Bucks have been silent.
