Penn St is prime position to win several Natty's in a row for the foreseeable future. Not good big picture for NCAA wrestling.

That's a view shared by others online. What about Penn State winning National Titles do you think is bad for NCAA wrestling in general?

Yes, bad in general. Team race will be decided (officially) by Saturday morning and Penn St should win every weight in most of their dual meets this year. (Health yeah yeah I know). Not very excited to most fans.

It's boring, like folk riding. But it's generally not a revenue generating sport, so maybe no one cares about the attendance.

This new normal is great for the athlete. Maybe not great for the competitiveness of the sports.

I find it annoying but whatever. Old-school I know but I would be loyal to the athletes who committed to my program out of HS.

I agree it doesn't seem good overall. PSU has always done a great job recruiting and developing, and had a great team, but of course with a few weak spots. Now what we're seeing is that transfers just come and fill those weak spots.

The result is that, frankly, the NCAA tournament will not be competitive from a team perspective, and no duals with PSU will be competitive. The lack of competition makes the it less interesting for fans, in my opinion.

Don't other top tier teams have the same opportunity as PSU?

PSU is the top tier. The rest are second tier teams.

I would say yes and no and it’s because of the NLWC. From all accounts they have a big bank account and can pay the best guys in the world to be a part of it so a kid can go to PSU and train with the best guys in the world along with getting top notch coaching. Greg K left when Snyder left to join NLWC.

Haines skipped his sr year to train at NLWC for a year.

NLWC has the following .
Gilman
Taylor
Snyder
Dake

To me that is more of an appeal than some NLI money.

If Greg K wasn’t allowed to wrestle with Snyder on a daily basis does he stay at tOSU? maybe not by who knows.

Will be interesting to see what happens to some of their top recruits. They have 3-4 top guys in the 25-33 range and now have Nageo for 3 years. They have some top recruits at 157-65 range and now have Haines x3 Menerbrink x3 and Facudo x3. Good problems to have

Sure. It's not that it's "not fair," the imbalance just doesn't make for good entertainment.

Well that was an interesting video. Considering his success at Iowa State and the fact that all of his family recommended that he stayed in Iowa, it's pretty impressive that Cael saw the potential in Penn State and decided to make the move. I have to give him credit.
