"Tough session but a lot of matches still to go. No final judgments until Sunday night."

The performance has been awful and has highlighted some of the questionable decisions that have been made regarding the lineup.
Not a final judgment but there’s not much to be encouraged by thus far."

Please elaborate when you have time.

The BT's have been what they often are...a mixed bag. Great results for Feldman and Mendez...Solid stuff from Rogotzke, Welsh, DD and Geog....Bouzakis and Hepner were disasters while McCrone is a good dual meet guy. That leaves Wilcox who is a consistent competitor.
Regardless of how they finish, this performance gets erased in two weeks and everything starts over again.

I felt all day that it was a disaster. Now they’re in 5th.
So on a very rough day they still are 5th in by far the toughest tournament in the country. Silver lining.

This may be a dumb question, but how does the 9th/11th place mini tourney work. Why some are 9th some are 11th, some don’t have any

Depends on the number of automatic qualifiers each weight has.

125- mccrone is wildly inconsistent. I’m hoping kilkeary makes some big strides and takes over next year. If not we go after a Penn state 125 in portal. The crazy thing is Davis may be the third best 125 on that team next year and he’s in the big ten finals. Penn state is going to be loaded at 125.
133-glad this problem is already solved. Bouzakis better figure it out because Davino is coming and Davino may be the favorite already. He has two options get better or sit on the bench.
141-impressive and seems to be gaining more and more confidence. See if he can avenge that loss now
149- demilio looks good. 50/50 to all American imo
157- Wilcox is only here bc Sammy and paddy both had injuries. Can’t complain too much. He dropped bc the team needed him. Can’t be too hard on him
165-it will be interesting to see if Birden can overtake this spot next year. I think his ceiling will be very high in college
174-wish he could have avenged Ruth but I expect him to be competing for a title in a year or two. Future is bright.
184-Ryder is exciting for sure. No one wants to see him in their draw next week.
197-my stock on him isn’t very high. Seems to be always gassed which is just strange to me. This is a weight Ohio state needs to adress through portal/ recruiting. There is no one to even push him for a spot right now unfortunately.
285- Feldman has made significant improvements this season. After cklv I thought he was not going to AA. Now I think he has a great shot. Let’s see if he can close the gap on Kerkvliet. He should be a real title threat by next year.

Nic B will get an at-large bid and still has an outside shot at top 8. Immensely talented just has serious lapses in judgement/focus (or so it appears ).
Really hope it turns around for him because he is an incredibly likable kid..

Welsh wrestles his butt off and defeats a tough Kennedy. Rogotzke goes down swinging against Pinto. Pinto had a huge lead and yet looked petrified for the last 30 seconds.
I love Rogotzke. Everytime he wrestles the circus is in town. He must be the only wrestler in history who uses a lat pull on bottom to set up a peterson.
Welsh competes for a title next season. And you've got Mendez. Plus Feldman. If they somehow get back a healthy Sasso, Bucks will be a blast to watch.

This young core of mendes, Feldman, welsh, and Rotogotzke will be scoring a lot of points in a couple years!! Add in davino and just need a couple more pieces to at least put a scare into Penn state.
Bouzakis may all American and may go 0-2 at nationals. I really wish Crookham would have beat him in high school. He just may have been a buckeye then. Looks like he may be the national champ.
Look at his Ironman championship from 2019 126 pounds
1. Bouzakis
2. Crookham
3. Shawver
4. Ragusin
5. Rocco welsh
He has been passed up by all these guys
